    I started watching "Hand of God" last week. I left off at S1E4. It's very different from anything I've ever watched. I find it difficult to explain to someone what it's about. Ron Pearlman characterizes the best mean, son-of-a-bitch, asshole than anyone. I've read he's a big teddy bear. To me he's Hell-Boy. How I hated him in SOA.

    I finished Narcos too. I loved it, though I have to say I was immensely bothered by the heavy Portuguese accent that Wagner Moura, the guy who played Escobar, had. It was especially distracting when he was giving his "I am one of you, my Colombian countrymen" political stump speech. I was like, Um bitch no you aren't, you're Brazilian, sit down and get a better dialect coach.

    I'm way into the theme song, though. I might make Mr. B learn it on guitar so I can sing it.

    most people don't notice stuff like that but it kills me. And it's not just dialects, it's ethnicity too, like how they hired Sakina Jaffrey to play Linda Vasquez on House of Cards and she's supposed to be a Latina and I'm all, bitch, you're Indian, not Latina and I can tell. She's a great actress but really just because most Americans can't tell the difference doesn't mean you shouldn't try a little bit harder when casting 'ethnic' roles. They're not interchangeable.

    He can't be too bad if Guillermo del Toro keeps casting him in movies. I was reading his IMDB entry, and he has been married almost 35 years. I also like this quote by him:

    "I've done millions of mediocre movies. I've done way more than my fair share. You do what you gotta do. This is not heart surgery. I'm not curing cancer. I'm just trying to put my kids through school."

    I liked season 4 a lot. I was scared too and that's why I haven't watched it sooner. The story could seem repetitive at times (too much Ron Howard for my taste, too) but overall I think it works well.
    Loved the dorm room vote bit.

    I have the same thing with audiobooks that ate supposed to be english/brits speaking. It jars when they come out with a.ericanism.
    Dan Brown did a major one in a really tence part of di vinci code, it was so bad that it dropped me completely out of the story.

    So, football is football but the other stuff (that is more like our Rugby) is "American Football". Glad to know that you call it right Palta!

    American football = gridiron
    soccer = soccer
    Rugby Union = Union aka "wake me up when it's over"
    Rugby League = League aka same as Union but for poor people and less boring
    Australian Rules Football aka Aussie Rules = Footy or THE GREATEST GAME OF ALL

    I've still never seen it. Half the locals here didn't like it and the other half did.
