Bale has a speech quirk, the helmet makes it worse.. as well as making himself all raspy that can't help

If my husband calls me and says, "why so serious?" one more time I am going to scream.

Ledger truly was something to behold. Disturbing and awful and compelling.

Oldman, I thought, was just as good, but on the opposite end of the spectrum. His Jim Gordon is decency incarnate. Except Oldman won't really get any credit---I think both Ledger AND Oldman deserve credit. Both deserve nominations, too, I think.

    Yes.
Lily, I love Oldman too. He really has aged, and I swear, I didn't even realize it was him until I was watching the Premiere and saw him. I have watched Batman Begins a number of times and did not notice it was him.

    That's his next line.
He came up behind me while I was at the sink brushing my teeth, took my toothbrush and held it like the Joker did and said that to me.
I thought I would die laughing.

Saw it again last night & picked up things I missed the first time. Plus, for some reason I could understand dialogue that was overpowered by the music the first time. Joker was just as creepy, but I think I liked being surpised by everything the first time.

my viewing wasn't overpowered by music.. if anything, the music was low key and frankly, themeless. One of the things i dont like about this new batman.. the theme music is pretty forgettable

I liked the trick Joker did with the pencil. Made the whole cinema react!

I saw it, and I'm kind of on the fence. It was visually stunning, and Ledger gave an amazing performance as the Joker (much subtler than Nicholson's over-the-top antics), but I do think the movie lacked a certain amount of balance-Batman Begins had some great character insights and got more into dialogue/motivation, while this one seemed to rely more on the action scenes to carry it. Also, I found Gyllenhal, Caine and Freeman sadly underused.

It definitely picked up on the second half for me, though. Every moment starting from the Joker's arrest was pure gold-and that confrontation between Batman and the Joker in the police station was just pure gold.

Gary Oldman continues to rock the house, of course.
