Whilst I understand the dynamics of abusive relationships I am VERY wary of Taylor "Shauna Hughes" Armstrong.
Plus in CA medical staff are obliged to report it to the police if they suspect domestic violence, so that tale she told about the football breaking her eye socket must have been VERY convincing, since she's not that good an actress.

Now that I think about it, I vaguely recall Gimenez being one of Brandi's friends who didn't jump ship and run into LeMann's handbag when LeMann started trying to take over Brandi's identity.

It was. Kim was on and seemed like a different person sober. Good for her.
Found out Taylor is more screwed up that I thought. She had friends who offered to help get her out, offered to get her an apartment. Russell overheard and allegedly tried to kill all of them and Taylor made them promise not to press charges because she was afraid of what would happen with her living arrangements. I nutshelled it but that's how I took it.

Taylor totally makes Russell out to be some crazed stalker, following her, tape recording her conversations....funny, but I season 1, I didn't get that vibe from him at all, that he was obessessed with her. More like she was an inconvenience who annoyed him and got in his way. I got the impression that he didn't pay much attention to her at all. I know it's TV and all and it's not "real" but to put that together with an abusive, obessessive control freak doesn't mesh with me.

I got that impression too, especially from Season 1. He seemed to be mostly annoyed by her, and really seemed to enjoy getting away from her and going to work as much as possible. I remember in several of the storylines it appeared that she always had trouble getting him to even join her and spend time with her. He really seemed to focus more on his work than on her. It really is sad that he is no longer here to defend himself. I don't think he was a saint, but I really don't think he was the monster that Taylor is making him out to be.

The first half an hour of the reunion is on youtube and I just couldn't watch her talk about him in the manner she was. And if she said what you guys are saying she said about getting help from friends and such, then any sympathy I had or might have had for her has totally gone. I genuinely cannot understand how she stayed with Russell even after being offered help. Your daughter is in the same house as this man who just threatened to kill all your friends, how do you not want to protect her???

EDIT: I have the same issue with my sister by the way, she stayed with her husband after he hit her and my niece and nephew at the time were only just babies, so I will never understand how and why she stayed with him especially after all these years and all the shitty dickhead moves he has pulled on her. Your kids should be your priority IMO and society can fuck off if they think a woman should stay with man even after he hits her to make her marriage work.

As for Kim, she's right and so was Andy; she was a complete different person during the ski trip and I wonder what happened to make her start drinking again. Also she needs to let the Brandi thing go already, I actually think if she gave Brandi a chance like Lisa did; they would actually be good friends.

In "normal" circumstances, there is a lot of mental abuse & disassociation (e.g. one isn't "allowed" friends, etc), so when one needs to get away there is no support circle to run to.
Many women stay because they are scared, but she is not saying that, she's saying that she stayed for the money, for the lifestyle, despite what it would do to her or her child. So either, she is dillusional & mentally ill since she prizes money over everything or she's dillussional & mentally ill by making this stuff up (or elaborating on the truth).

I find it telling that she's only come up with the not-actually-broken-eye-socket as her presented "proof" & yet Bravo said that the other housewives noticed the bruises, etc (but took no photos, and there are no photos of the jaw issue, either, despite that she had photos take that day & the following days).

Yeah Kim kept saying how Brandi's crystal meth comment is what has hurt her family the most... Um I would say it was your drunk ass behavior on the show that is the real embarrassment. However she did look so much better sober. She has some meat on her bones and her face seems to have filled out those wrinkles.

I totally liked how Dana called herself tacky.

This 3rd installment wasn't all that interesting.

I just don't buy what Taylor's selling. I grew up in a house with an abused woman and I know what they look like, how they act and I do NOT buy that Taylor is one.
