The "cracken" isn't Davy Jones, he's just a creature controlled by him...

It's actually spelled "Kraken". After I saw the movie, I started reading everything I could on Davy Jones and pirates and such. I really loved on the first movie's dvd how they had those little informative shorts about pirates!

so, i finally saw it too ... it only opened here last thursday.
i had a quite a few good laughs! and all in all liked it but not as much as the first part. i loved the part with the paprika when jack was fleeing from that tribe. too funny! and "jack" just makes the funniest faces, the way he walks or even funnier runs.
one thing i did not understand was ---> why did davy jones lock his heart in the chest ... something about a woman if i understood correctly. but what?

PurpleHaze: *SPOILER ALERT* Because he was in love with a woman, who in Tia Dalma's words was "as wild and untameable as the sea", and so it was entirely unrequited and he couldn't live with the pain in his heart, so he cut it out so he could just avoid it I guess. Does that make sense?

I loved it! More than the first one. Johnny Depp is just amazing, he makes that character, he's so great to watch. There's alot in this one, I wasn't bored for a second, it was fantastic. Cant wait for #3.

That's exactly what I thought. I didn't realize that bit was confusing.
