I'd give it a D. Way too long, not enough Jack - too much Elizabeth (and her character going from prim to pirate is pretty unrealistic), and finally - the ending sucked.... I left feeling unfullfilled and like I wasted almost 3 hours.

^ hey me too Nerissa; and i thought there was plenty of Jack! He's not the center of the movie you know; its more like an ensemble piece, anyways it was fabulous and outrageous and beautiful and very funny and extremely entertaining; remember its not supposed to be a seriously developed complex drama; its just Disney fun!

Am I the only one who had a hard time with the plot? I don't know how to describe it. First, I couldn't figure out what the whole point of the movie was. That feeling lasted a loooong time. Then the squid comes out and I felt like I was hammered over the head with the "plot"--only it still didn't flow very well. I don't know. I will say that watching the cannibal scenes made up for everything. Too funny!

I have a question about the first Pirates movie (if this needs its own thread, moderators, please feel free to correct).

The crew of the Black Pearl is all hit by the curse. So> they can't eat and turn into skeletons when the moon is out. Yet, in the scene in the jail, when two of his former crew members are hit by the moonlight and turn into skeletons, Jack Sparrow remains normal. Then, later on the Black Pearl, he eats an apple and Barbosa looks on in envy. However> in the fight scene between Barbosa and Jack Sparrow in the cave, he turns into a skeleton when he stands under the moonlight I never got that. Somebody, anybody got an answer, or is it just a goof?

It's been awhile since I've seen the movie, but I think this explains it. highlight ------> When Jack was exiled from the pirate crew he was done so without any portion of the treasure, the other men that stayed on the ship all had taken parts of the treasure and were affected by the curse. At the end when Jack becomes the skeleton, he had grabbed part of the treasure so he would be affected by the curse and it would make him unable to be killed while he fought Barbosa. He then returned the piece of the treasure when he was in the position to finish off Barbosa <-------- I'm not sure if that is right, but it's how I remember it.

That's exactly how I felt. I was so cranky that the AC in the theater was on so cold I was almost getting sick and I didn't pay enough attention to what was actually going on at the beginning of the film cuz I was cranky...

Liked part one, loved part two and will adore part three. In part three there will be more Captain Jack Sparrow compared to the second part.

    Happy, happy, joy, joy!

    Spoiler alert

The dude that showed up the end of the movie is the former captain of the Black Pearl (if that's who you think Davy Jones is Alice).

Anyways, so is he a squid or an octopus? I thought he was more octopus like

Yeah, octopus makes more sense. I thought his costume was brilliant! Apparently it's completely computer generated, all motion capture.

davy jones is the monster squid swimming around? How come they were in the same scene towards the end when the squid *spoiler*
eats Johnny Depp; davy jones is on the sidelines watching the whole thing happen so how can he be in two places at once?
