Scarlett always looks "special" to me when she's not heavily made up and/or airbrushed. Very plain, sickly looking, flat face with a slackjawed mouth breathing expression.

hahaha she does! She wouldn't have been my choice for Mary.
I have to go see this movie. I loved the book.

I think Natalie Portman was perfect for Anne, but I also am not crazy about ScarJo as Mary. For one thing, because they look absolutely nothing alike. It's not believable to me that they could ever possibly be sisters. I would have liked to see Anne Hathaway as Mary.

Before this movie, I hadn't seen anything she starred in, and all I ever saw were her photos. I thought she was very unique looking with exquisite features. But in the movie, everytime I saw her, I had to force myself to pay attention to what she was saying. Seriously, she's quite ugly. I've never seen that before in my life, especially because directly from the front, she's very beautiful, imo.

I thought that Elizabeth and Mary were suppose to look very different, at least that how the book portrays the sisters. Mary was suppose to have the typical English look of the time, very pale with blond hair.
As for Scarlett and Natalie looking so dissimilar I don't think it takes away too much. I have very dark brown hair while my middle sister has very blond hair. Our faces are completely different as well. I think there are a lot of people out there who don't like so similar to their siblings.
I'm about 1/2 way though the book and I really like it so far.

It looks like a good movie but very intense from the trailers. Is it a sad and depressing movie. Can't watch one of those right now so off we go to see Horton Hears a Who, but we also want to see this movie as well.

Saw the movie yesterday, it's pretty good. Different than the book, but that's almost always the case.
It's pretty good, not amazing. Probably should have just waited and rented it.
