I am not familiar with these books, but I saw a trailer the other day on TV and I couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be about.

^If you like to read easy funny books, then you should really try them. They are a very fast light read.

Sometimes the books are actually laugh-out-loud funny. The character schtick is priceless. I used to order and stock mysteries and true crime at a bookstore back in the 90s and the Plum novels used to just run out the door. I was expecting a film anytime with, yes, Sandra Bullock. I can't figure out why it never happened then, when the books were hotter and all. Even ten years ago she or Tomei would've been awesome, since they were both scarily ageless well into their forties.

I just could NOT believe my eyes when I saw the poster with Hagl. Unfuckingbelievable. Who'd she blow?

I'm usually kind of snobby about books and I hate chick-lit, so I was reluctant to read these books at first. But damn, they are truly laugh out loud funny in some parts and very entertaining. In such a long series there is bound to be a book here and there that isn't as good as the rest, but when Evanovich is on, she's really on. I especially loved the one where Stephanie and Lulu took other jobs.

My only qualm is the business with Ranger. I actually got bored with that storyline and his character. I don't care how hot he is.

You are right, Kathie. I never even thought of Marisa Tomei, but she would have been great.

This series was really popular when I used to travel quite a bit for work and I'd save them till I had to fly. If I had a nickel for every side-eye look I got when I laughed out loud while reading them in the terminal or on the plane, I'd be rich. I don't know how many people I turned onto them though. I think Janet owes me some royalties.

My sister & I both use the CDs for car trips. There have been times both of us almost had to pull over to regain control. I mean laugh so hard you cry!
They can make a trip go really fast.

Im reading the first one now and enjoying it. I especially like how light of a read it is and how quick the chapters go by. Ill watch the movie but its either Matinee or DVD.

I love the books, but I know I'll hate the movie. My brother is actually a (retired) police detective named Morelli, so we all got a big kick out that. I can't stand KH and I agree, the trailer looks stupid as hell.
