Love that Joan is a perfect copywriter for things that appeal to fun-loving girls, too bad she's always been looked over because she has a knack for that demographic.
Joan's smart and good at her job. Remember the episode in which she helped Harry with the ad placement in TV shows.

It's hard to feel sympathy for Betty.

Love that Peggy will now have to be FUN and have FUN because she's a FUN girl, lol.

Love that Kitty's inner gaydar was pinged when Sal did his interpretation of the commercial. She knows something is up.
I didn't really enjoy this weeks ep that much...i agree with you i feel like they are building up to something. I'm so glad they showed Peggy's family; it's the only time her character becomes interesting.

Yes Joan is talented but will always be overlooked and underappreciated.

Back to Peggy...you've got to feel sorry for her. The men don't appreciate her and she is so insecure. She just can't be herself and is uncomfortable in her own skin. That explains her embarrasing attempts at being fun.

BTW - i love Sally Draper; especially when she drove the car.

This is totally non-important, but I read an interview with Christina Hendricks (Joan) and she is naturally blonde, but dyes her hair red. I've probably seen her in other films/shows as a blonde, but am not sure.

My interpretation of that was that the baby died, something went wrong, or the guy sobered up and forgot all his gushing 'let's be better people' talk with Don. And Don hedges on naming the baby Eugene, lol, I'd probably act just like that too if I didn't care for some relative.

Even though Betty is a frigid bitch, her dream sequences made me sad. First she holds a caterpillar in her hands without letting it turn into a butterfly and then her parents tell her it's better to remain a pampered housewife, a housecat, than speak her mind. I think Betty's mother was tending to Medgar Evers, like he's a symbol for standing up and speaking out or something.

Favorite line of the night from Pete to Peggy, "Your decisions affect me."

Cameo of the night! The nurse who comes in to tell prison guard man his wife had a boy was Yeardley Smith, the voice of Lisa Simpson.
    Enjoy the liquor and delicatessen.

Did anyone see if the wife of the prision guard was actually holding a baby when she was getting wheeled out? It went by so fast.

I'm waiting for Don to finally snap. He's been pretty much on the straight and narrow (exception of the flight attendant) since the new season began. He's just so much more fun to watch when he's bad.

i thought she was holding a baby, and yeah, the new dad sobered up i guess. its funny, in real life even a baby can't change people...

I wonder if he and Sally's teacher are going to sex it up.

Anyone else notice the teacher's name was Suzanne Farrell? There was a super famous ballet dancer who came up in the 60s with NYCB named Suzanne Farrell. Wonder if there's supposed to be any connection.

And Duck, what the heck is up with him? Is he trying to get back at Draper by talking to Peggy and Pete? Or is he just seeing if he can get the best talent?

Do you think Peggy will leave Sterling Cooper? She is clever enough to be competitive. I wonder what Don thinks of her after their last conversation and her comment that he had everything and a lot of it. Can you imagine a story line where she joins Duck, and then steals accounts from Sterling Cooper?

I doubt Pete would leave Sterling Cooper, but Peggy sees another path for herself.

And what was your impression of Betty taking her time going to get the baby in the middle of the night?

And yeah....Don and the teacher will be getting it on, unless they were trying to present him in a new-ish light with the birth of the new baby? BUT, when Betty asked who was on the phone he said noone.

And even though he went about it all wrong, I liked that Pete brought his new thoughts to the tv company, and he was appalled at everyones reaction. Does that mean he was appalled at their reaction to the demographic? Or just appalled over not targeting a new audience for business reasons?

I am rambling but it;s been a long day at work.

I don't think Duck is working for anyone, and that he is trying to get them to quit.

The woman wasn't carrying a baby, her hands were together.
Don's getting fired in next weeks episode.

Well if Don gets fired he will go sex it up with the teacher to make himself feel better. I just think that it was just too obvious that the teacher was a little ho who wanted her claws on Don.

I don't remember - did Don actually find out that Betty did name their son Eugene? That name is horrible. Plus I think it will piss off Sally even more.

Betty is going to have major PPD - it is so obvious.

And no Joan this episode? I love her! I was so disappointed that they didn't write her into this episode.

Damn, that was some heavy shit they injected into Betty's IV. Her dreams were crazy! I laughed when she saw her mom and says, "I left my lunchbox on the bus and I'm pregnant."

An on an ending note, I still am smitten with Don even though he's a manwhore.
