^^You know, I thought it was Pete but now that you mention it, it could have been Duck but I have no idea what he was holding.

Oh Peggy!! Finally fessed to Pete-sorta. I couldn't believe it! Pete's a little shit and I can't wait till next season when his rat brain processes it!

I know, he was pissed. I think that's part of the reason he engineered the merger.
I think that Pete sees Don as a father figure and that's why he seeks Don's approval. I think Don complimenting him meant more to him than the promotion Duck gave him.
I'm not sure who was in their office with the shotgun, Pete or Duck. I'm going to have to go back and watch it again.

What did you think about the episode Belindagogo? Good? Bad?
I was honestly surprised that so many things were 'laid out' you know? Like the Peggy/Pete baby, the Betty pregnancy (and I liked how she still went riding after her doctor told her not to), etc. The merger and the Betty/Don marriage is obviously still in the air, and who knows what will happen w/Pete and his wife....and Peggy.

I liked it. It did seem like the finale covered alot but they handled it well.
Pete can be a jerk but he's different with Peggy. It'll be interesting to see how that relationship plays out.
I wonder if they'll fast forward again when it comes back on the air.

^^I hope they don't fast forward past the Kennedy assassination. It would be interesting to see how the various characters handle that momentous event.

I think I've heard others say it's Pete in his office with his BB gun (the one from earlier in the season.) I hope nothing bad happens to Pete, I like him and Peggy together.

I thought she was doing this to leave open the possibility of miscarriage, esp. since she was asking her friend and her doctor about abortion options. That was brave of her to think of that. But I guess in the end since she told Don she decided against it? Too bad, it would have been a great opportunity to assert her control over her own life.
Btw, this is the first Mad Men episode I've ever watched and my interest is definitely piqued. I'm gonna have to go back and watch all the previous seasons!

It will but maybe without creator Matthew Weiner at the helm. He's asking for more money.

I can't believe this season is over already. It seems like it just started. Boo!
Even though I hate Pete, he really seemed almost human with Peggy. And the fact that he told Don what was going on was pretty decent too. I think it was him at the end of the show with the gun in his office.
Loved Betty getting some strange. Although those two had the chemistry of paper napkins on screen. She looked like a lousy lay. LOL!
The whole contract thing with Don means that he could leave and take his clients with him, right? That would serve Duck right. LOL!!!!
Great show. Will be counting down the months till it comes back around.

Wanted to add my Congrats to this awesome freaking show in this thread for winning the best drama!!
And for the record, Jon Hamm should have won Best Actor....and probably January Jones, but definitely Jon. Man is hotter than hell.

so i finally started watching. i've had the first season on my hard drive for months and just hadn't had time. i watched the entire first season in about 3 days, now i can't wait to download the second one.
it's fantastic. the acting, the setting. even the characters i can't stand are good because they're so well acted (peter especially). i also dislike bettie but at the same time she's a great character and typical of that era. she's just so vapid and useless and acts like a spoiled child. i'm hoping she matures in the second season.

it is a really good show, but it gets a little depressing or negative later on in the way that Six Feet Under got where it was just so negative and crazy that I couldn't watch it anymore b/c it became unbelievable. but I haven't finished the 2nd season of madmen yet.
also i think its funny how John Hamm and his wife on the show look so much better on the show than they do in real life imo especially her
