The funny thing is about this show is that they all think they are there to do a documentary. They are too fuc%&d up to realize that this has been on T.V. all this time, you would think they had seen the show...

Ugh, those ziplocks made me want to vomit. I guess she's clogged her toilet in the past. The other buliemic was sad too. She became a stripper to support her food addiction. I was amazed at how much they could eat and how much they spend on food.

yeah that was so sad; that girl had it all; a husband who loved her and a nice home and a good ass job and car and she's killing herself.

i watched the one with cristy...i will definitely be watching this more, or watching the ones on On Demand at least. I cant believe she thought she was still hot ! I felt so sorry for her younger sister. Her parents really didnt help her to beat her addiction at all...they just kept giving her exactly what she wanted.

do they ever do follow ups..like to see if they did get clean or not...the few that ive seen, they seem totally hopeless

I've seen one or 2 followups. The one I definitely remember the followup for she had completed treatment, moved to a halfway house, had repaired some of the rift with her family, and was generally doing very well. The way they do updates is that they'll show the old ep and then tack a "where they are now" segment at the very end.

In "real life", there have been two major national studies which followed up on five-year recovery rates of alcohol and drug addicts. The results were that 18% and 21% respectively stayed off drugs and alcohol. However, 6% and 9% also died during that same five-year period.....which is another way to stay off of mind-altering substances for the long-term......

And some drugs are worse than others....crack cocaine has around a 4% long-term recovery rate......

    Jesus, those are depressing stats.

I think Meth may be one of the worst, too.
