Thanks! Some of the scenes that they left out would have made the movie a lot better, and I really wish now that they had left out the future storyline about the old woman and the guy trying to find the Heart of the Ocean or whatever it was called. Of course Fox clamped down on some of the Youtube clips, so I haven't seen all the deleted scenes yet.

Cool note for Ringer fans: the guy who plays Andrew was a crewman on the Titanic. I wish he had used that accent for Andrew.

Not my favorite movie, but it has been really funny watching my teenage daughter discover it and fall in love with the young Leo. Nothing will convince her that it is not a great movie...

    Best line evah!

Back to Titanic, I hated Lovejoy. He was such a smug, pasty little douche. He had his nose up Cal's ass the entire time. And what was up with Cal and Rose's mother? Everytime you turned around, Rose's mom was hanging all over Cal! Like when they were going to dinner (where Jack had been invited), Rose is walking alone, unescorted and Cal is escorting the mom! And the way Cal was so condescending to Rose, like she was mentally challenged and calling her "Sweetpea"?! Uggh! Hell, I'd dive off the end of the ship too if I had a boyfriend like that.

Favorite part in the whole movie:

When Bruce Ismay is explaining why they chose the name Titanic, because it indicated size and power, Rose says: "Mr. Ismay, have you heard of Dr. Freud? His preoccupation with size may be of some interested to you." To which the arrogant yet clueless Bruce Ismay replies," Freud? Is he a passenger?"

And now not one, but two miniseries, one to air this weekend on ABC, to comemmorate the 100th anniversary of the disaster.

And a PBS special tonight with Len Goodman. Yes, THAT Len Goodman - judge from Dancing With the Stars, because apparently, before he put on his dancing shoes, he labored away at Harland and Wolff (the shipyard in Ireland that built Titanic) so for some reason, that makes him qualified to be a host of a show about Titanic. Who knew?!

I was in middle school when this came out, and I saw it and enjoyed it, mainly because I was in love with Leonardo DiCaprio. Now I can see how ridiculous most of this movie is, and I've always hated the ending.

I also thought that frankly they could have done without the whole "Heart of the Ocean" and Old Rose subplot.

I watched it on Sunday. It didn't really say anything new. I was hoping for something different.
