True and they've had a bit take place in Chicago already. I'm glad they kept that crazy bastard Van Alden.

Bump. Season 3 has just started and so far so very good. I just watched Ep2 but won't give spoilers. It seems that Nucky is obeying the old rule that when you marry your mistress you create a vacancy. Sorry about Jimmy Darmody at the end of Season 2 though (he was VERY close to his mother as I suspected). I'll be following crazy/creepy Agent Van Alden very closely and also hope there's a happy ending for poor Richard Harrow. He's hot, disfigurement or not.

I agree, A*O, so far so good. I love the storyline with Gyp. I hope he sticks around for a while. He's awesome.

    Eps 1 and 3 were superb, while 2 and 4 were...less than.

I had high hopes for Owen stepping into the void left by Jimmy but so far that's not happening. Not enough Richard, which borders on criminal narrative malfeasance. TOO MUCH GD Nucky. Sorry, but he's NOT the most compelling lead, character or actor-wise.

I actually like Billie and hope they develop her more. Loved the bits with Eddie Cantor, but they misused Chalky in the one scene he had in ep 4.

So do I! I can't believe he's had so little to do. I hope he has a dramatic 'bust out' soon. Maybe he and Margaret will start up again because their sex scene last year was hawt.

Does Nucky know that Margaret signed over the land title to the church (end S2) and is that why they are estranged? The plots and characters are coming thick and fast now so you really have to concentrate. Not helped by the very dark and monochromatic lighting.

Yes, he knows. He mentioned it when she was insisting he meet with the bishop. I have a hard time keeping up with the shows that have a nine month break.

They haven't really delved into it. You'd think there would be more fallout for Margaret over doing something like that, but apparently Nucky got something out of it he wanted--a facade of legitimacy. He's the big philanthropist now, which I suppose makes it more difficult to pin 'gangster' on him.

^^Exactly. I'm thinking they'll touch on it later, but it seems like so much time has gone by since it all happened. How much time has passed since Nucky killed Jimmy? It seems to be several months, if not a year. I can't tell. I'm sure it's been mentioned, but I missed it. Nucky has really changed.

    And just for fun...

^^I think it's been about 18 months? I'm not really sure.

Seems to me, all of the characters are getting short changed in favor of servicing Nucky. Huge mistake. He's the least interesting thing about the show. The hot young males are either murdered: Jimmy---hardly used: Richard--or have become little more than props: Owen.

What gives? Are we witnessing a Buscemi ego trip?

Last night's ep was borrrrring. Two good things--moar Richard! And the weirdly pathos infused scene in which Gillian killed the Jimmy look-a-like. I wanted to slap the shit out of Nucky just to get him off my screen.

It's jumped the shark now that Jimmy is dead. I'm very disappointed.
