My movie picking privileges were taken away after I chose Definitely, Maybe. My dumb skank sister-in-law said it was good. Last time I listen to her advice.

I thought it was okay. I guess I liked it better than Lady in the Water, but that's not saying much.

I loved Sixth Sense, Unbreakable and Signs.... all the other ones have been crappy. It's disappointing!

I just saw this. I hated it. It was dumb. The acting was terrible. The end.

Sorry to necro but I just watched The Happening and I agree with Lily! It was utter crap. I should have known after seeing Signs which was also crap. I quite liked The Sixth Sense which had some genuinely creepy moments and I didn't pick the ending - duh - but this director has definitely jumped the shark.

You see, this is why I liked it. Because I thought from everyone saying show shitastic it was, that it would blow. But I actually ended up enjoying it, it was overly emotive and cheesy but I felt like thats what it was supposed to be, the dialogue was supposed to be stilted and awkward and the characters were supposed to be weird and clumsy. Low expectations rock. My dad told me this was the worst movie ever, so I went into it with the thought that I would never get those ninety minutes back. I actually ended up enjoying it. It was bizarre and you needed a weird sense of humor to "get it" I think. I will say however, that the last thirty minutes sucked ass. But I did enjoy the culmination of events up to that point. Definitely not the worst movie I've ever seen, by far, although I probably won't watch it again.

I can't work out if it was supposed to be a "realistic" story of the planet fighting back with the whole eco message, or a deliberate spoof of those cheesy 1950s schlock horror movies like "The Curse Of The Blob" or whatever. It failed in both cases. None of the characters were half way believeable and the acting throughout the whole crazy old lady stuff towards the end was so bad it was painful to watch. And if the whole population of Philly is told to evacuate I doubt the trains would would be so conveniently available and the roads so clear. The whole point of these movies to to make the rest of the plot apart from the weird stuff believeable and this just wasn't.
