^^ I didn't see the original. Maybe Brittany Snow was just too "nice" to play Amber.

I am taking my 17 year old shopping for school clothes and things for senior pictures this weekend, and asked her if she wanted to go see it. She said NO! It was gay...
I know hubby won't go see it...guess I will have to go alone...

Finally saw it today and loved every second of it! Our whole family went from 2 yr old to Great Grandmother and we all loved it! Just great, I thought! Loved the whole cast-I mean ALL!

    Meh.

I just saw it tonight. Although the movie's alright, the long-drawn out songs was a little unnecessary. (it's like I felt the audience was just waiting for them to stop singing to continue on with the movie).

    Raing: 5/10

And I just couldn't get past a freaky John Travolta behind that fat suit.

I saw it Saturday night and was somewhat underwhelmed. 94% on Rotten Tomatoes? I'd rate it a 7/10. It just wasn't laugh-out-loud funny and while the songs were enjoyable, the film was ultimately quite mediocre. I really didn't like the casting of Travolta - awkward with a capital "A" - and I don't understand why they'd get Amanda Bynes when she's only a mediocre singer. I think there were only a few people in the entire theatre (full house) who understood the jokes. Only myself and a few other people laughed at "Mr. Pinky's Hefty Hideaway".

Anyways, I loved Chris Walken, Nikki Blonsky, Elijah Kelley (nice voice!), James Marsden and surprisingly, Zac Efron. He strikes me as a bag of douche in real life, but I liked his performance. My favourite song was "Without Love". I can't get it out of my head.
I saw a film today, oh boy.

^^ I wondered about Amanda Bynes too, but not so much for the singing as the dancing. It was painfully obvious that she couldn't dance. She looked awkward and uncomfortable doing the routines. I also noticed that every chance they had during her limited dance scenes, they stuck her behind a ton of extras.

Now that I think about it, she really couldn't dance. Is that why they put her character in that tight dress during the finale? She could barely move!

Oh... my GOD, saw the trailer for this at the movies tonight and it looks absolutely amazing!
It looks like the next Grease.
I'll slap myself for saying that if it's ANYTHING like High School Musical.

This movie looks like it has everything. First, perfect cast. I love everyone in it except for that black dude. But just because I've never seen him before.
It also looks like it'll have more than just the comedy bits, like the African-American issues in the '60s...
    I cannot wait.
