It seems like a lot of people don't like Nathalie Dormer, but I think she's very attractive.
I think Cersei was buttering up/sounding out the 3 judges of Tyrion's upcoming trial - she failed with Tywin, Prince Oberyn has her number, and obviously the women rule the Tyrell family so if she wants to deal with Mace she's smart to try his daughter. I love how Margaery was pushing her by calling her sister and mother and Cersei calmly took it because she wanted something. And I agree Natalie Dormer is gorgeous, she's the right mix of sweet and cunning. She was perfect the week before in the Tommen's First Boner scene.

Fun fact: autocorrect changes Tommen to atom men. It pays to check before hitting Reply.

I'm still grappling with a lot of back story I don't know so chunks of this ep were a bit confusing but I think I more or less followed it all. I have a major lady boner for Charles Dance (Tywin). I'm guessing he won't condemn Tyrion for Joffrey's well deserved murder. I don't think he knows whodunit (I do, I do!) but he's glad the little shit is gone and so he has a better chance of controlling Tommen. Plus it will piss off his lovely daughter if Tyrion lives on to act as the family's conscience.

Natalie Dormer was also excellent as Anne Boleyn in the otherwise terrible The Tudors.

There's a very good/funny GoT reviewer in The Socialist Worker, oooops, I mean The Age (available online) who recaps every ep with some great lines and she also splains the relevant back story too.

I was reading those recaps for a while (Natalie something?) and they're hilarious but it was getting annoying because she refuses to read further than the TV series (no problem there) but then her and a bunch of other commenters continue to speculate and "bet" each other over what's going to happen, and when someone says "read the books and you won't need to speculate" they become highly offended. I get that they don't want spoilers, but they also want to practically ban anyone who's read the books from commenting. That, and she rejected one of my comments because I typed the word c*** (exactly that way - I didn't even spell the actual word) and I was quoting Jaime! If bad language offends (even hinted at bad language) then I doubt GoT is the right show for them.

I was reading a column this week and some commenter posted that there should have been a trigger warning on Sunday's episode when Jon was fighting with Karl and Craster's daughter speared him through the back of his head.~eyeroll~

If you're a person that needs trigger warnings, GoT is not for you.

I think it's just fighting with swords, no? I imagine to the death? Little Tyrion doesn't have good odds there.

I have to think Shae was forced to testify to those things by Cirsei, right? Her men must have caught Shae before she could get away and threatened to kill Tyrion if she didn't lie on the "stand."

it means the defendant gets a warrior and the prosecution gets a warrior, they fight, and whichever side wins the fight decides the verdict.

Trial by combat is what Tyrion got when he was in the Vale, it's how he met Bronn. Bronn was his champion in that trial by combat.

I'm trying to watch Season 1 for the first time while watching Season 4. This isn't the first time that Tyrion has requested a trial by combat. He also requested one when he was brought to Lysa's castle and stood trial for supposedly trying to have Bran Stark assassinated in his bed. Tyrion shrewdly picked the sell-sword dude who is still with him, dropping one liners, in Season 4. I wonder if Tywin would choose Jamie as the prosecution's fighter? Also, is the guy who fought for Tyrion in Season 1 at this trial?

ETA - just saw WCG's reply. Bronn is now training Jamie to sword fight with his non-dominant remaining hand. So, the one thing that seems sure is that Bronn will not be fighting Jamie.
