Yeah it's not cheap, there's no way I'd be spending extra money for a TV channel just for one show.

I agree FaithAnne it was absolutely brutal. I'd prepared myself for it but it was something else seeing it in the flesh. However, it was really awesome to see it happen finally, such a pivotal moment of the series.

GRRM really doenst mind killing off characters that are front and center in the plot. I thought Ned Stark was going to be the lead character right until they cut his head off! Then I was sure it was going to end up with Robb and Daenerys together at the end of the Song of Ice and Fire series. Wrong again!

it's not about the players, it's all about the game.

Tonight, is the finale for season 3. I'm scared to watch or should I say scarred after the Red Wedding!

No book spoilers in the TV thread.

I'm wondering what this season will be finishing on actually since they're doing half a book. Last week was so good that today's ep will have to be a stoater!

This made me laugh out loud.

I am upset that the Lannisters, what's left of the Starks, and the rest of Westeros broke up with me last night. Hopefully by next March, we'll be back together.

I liked the episode, but not as much as "The Red Wedding."

Yeah I thought it was a bit of a fizzer for a finale, but it would have been hard to top last week's episode.

Re "listen to your mother" - if they had listened to Catelyn and done EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE every time she opened her mouth, Ned would still be walking around with his head. I'm doing a (skimming) re-read and every single decision she makes is the wrong one, beginning with insisting Ned go to KL and be Robert's Hand because among other things she wanted her daughters to make good marriages... yeah, how did that turn out Cat?

Can anybody tell me which episode is the one where Walder's son Glenn leaves to become a minstrel?

I thought the finale had an uplifting quality to it, which was refreshing after last weeks gut wrenching episode (especially for the death of the wolf!)
I was glad to see Jamie make it back to King's Landing with Brienne, Jon Snow is now at Castle Black, Sam and Gilly along with baby Sam, all made it back to Castle Black too.
Dany being a liberator and "mother" to all those people and that amazing scene at the end where she's crowd surfing. It was a great place to end the season.
Unfortunately it was another horrible week for the Stark ladies, poor Sansa, learning about her brother and mother's deaths (at the behest of her new in-laws) and knowing she was stuck, Rob wasn't going to save her now.
Then poor Arya, finding Greywind's head on Rob's body, how awful was that for her to see. At least she had her revenge on those guys talking about her family and I love her relationship with Hound. I like how he told her to warn him next time she was going to kill someone, not to stop doing it but just warn him!
I also love how much Tywin hates Joffrey, he just sends him to bed like a toddler! Oh and Yara, standing up to her dad and taking the best ship and strongest killers to go rescue her brother, go Yara!
At least I can re-watch this episode just in case I missed something, I wish I could unsee last week's show!

Oh I don't know about that, it was a little too heavy handed white savior for my taste. Plus that music, my eyes about rolled over in their sockets. Overall I enjoyed the season though. I expect the pacing next season is going to pick up a lot.
