How much do I love the Khaleesi? She shows up at the very end and steals the entire episode, which considering how awesome the scene between Old Lady Tyrell and Varys was, is a pretty hard thing to do. So much win in one episode! I almost felt bad for Theon - no, I DID feel bad for him when he said the thing about his real father losing his head at Kings Landing.

Now I need to read the books non-stop for the next 6 days so I can catch up. I hope my cats don't expect to be fed for the rest of the week, Mama's busy.

I love the Khaleesi, too! That is a seriously righteous chick. She opened one major can of whoop ass in that last scene. It was simply magnificent.
The Khaleesi rocks in so many ways. She rocks that hair, her name rocks (who wouldn't like to have the middle name, Stormborn?), she doesn't demand attention--she commands it. And last but certainly not least, SHE'S THE MOTHER OF FUCKING DRAGONS for chrissakes!!! Bam! Deal wid it.
Oh, and I got goosebumps when she started speaking fluent Valyrian.

    You're all pronouncing Khaleesi WRONG

We've all been pronouncing Daenerys Targaryen's title wrong!

In an interview with Vulture Game of Thrones language maker (official title) David J. Peterson revealed that the Dothraki tongue pronounces Khaleesi as “KHAH-lay-see,” not “ka-LEE-see.” Boom, mind blown.

Does the fact that every human on the planet butchers his made up fantasy language bother him? You bet.

"The vowel change bugs me... The producers decided they liked the other way better. They probably thought most people were pronouncing it that way anyway, which is true.”

Ah well. Read the whole interview over at Vulture — it's full of little gems like this.

I think some of those horse dudes would say it correctly when they were speaking Dothraki, but khaLEEsi just rolls off the tongue better.

I've watched that last scene about 5 times (or 50 but who's counting?) and one thing I love is the look Ser Barristan gives Ser Jorah when the Unsullied are banging their spears. He's totally saying "looks like we backed the right pony with this one". And then the final shot where her massive host marches out and as the shot pulls away you see the dragons flying above. Fucking awesome.

Ohh fuck off, the freaking creator of Khaleesi says he doesn't give a damn how you pronounce his names.

I'm just watching the last two episodes with wee sis now, they're so good. Theon's almost-rape scene is on now,wee sis is pretty disturbed until the shooter turns up and she's all pleased to see him. Ohh dear, poor wee sis.

eta - I'm just going to leave this here

IKR? Wee sis and I were talking about the advert, and when she looked it up - lo and behold it was Rory McCann!

This week's episode was amazing, I loved every scene. I was howling at Jaime's speech to Brienne in the bath. Oh and cave sex, le sigh

Great episode. Knew what was coming, and the show conveyed it well.

That was exactly as I imagined it except without not-Jeyne Westerling bleeding profusely front and centre. I nearly cried when they came for the wolf.

ETA finally finished the books tonight. I need to sleep and not dream of sellswords and drowned gods for the first time in weeks.

No way, I knew what was going to happen and I still covered my mouth in shock. It was brutal. And the pooch! And Arya! So sad...

We don't have HBO, but my husband and i have read the books. He said twitter started freaking out last night over GoT. We both knew right away why. It was pretty shocking in the books. I'll have to wait until next March (again) to see this season.... Hate being so cheap!

^^It's not being cheap. In our household, we call it living within our means.
