The interesting thing he does is that in books 3 and 5 he deals primarily with the charecters introduced in book 1. 2 and 4 deal with people who were mentioned in passing in the other books and almost not at all with the Starks/Targareons. Danaerys is my favorite. And Ned. I still cant believe they killed him off.

Ned just didn't have too much in the life preservation skills when it came to politics. He always had all his cards out on the table.

Absolutely love this show. I didnt watch when it was on TV. Then one weekend about 2 months ago, I finished all 10 eps.

I am now reading the books. I'm still on book 1, not the fastest reader and these are big books. lol. Love the books, too!

Tyrion Lannister is all kind of awesome.

Well holy shit, she hatched some dragons. Sorry for the bump, but I used the long weekend to start watching this show. It's great.

I love Danerys. She's my favorite on the show. Not to mention, rightful heir to the Iron Throne. I loved when she said to the witch 'I do not require your screams, only your life.'

Really enjoyed the show and can't wait for season 3 to start.
To shorten the wait I am listening to the audio books and although I love to read and enjoy the story I know I wouldn't finish reading the books. Just don't care for some of the chapters and I would get stuck on them when reading. But anyway I am about 3/4 through book 5 and I have to say I have a favorite character I would have never expected just from the TV show.
