I hate Lila so much that I couldn't even watch the sex scene, I looked away in disgust. She totally tainted Dexter's hotness. The whole time I was like, "Dexter, NOOOOOO!" I'm really disappointed in him now. How could he?

I mean, if he had to cheat on Rita--whom I don't mind but I admit she's a little bland--couldn't he have found some hot chick who wasn't annoying?

Oh, and I totally wanted to kick Rita's mom in the teeth when Rita was crying to her about Dexter cheating. She took such pleasure in Rita's pain just because it proved her right about Dexter, that control freak bitch! Wanted to smack that smug smirk right off her face.

Another thing, I can't believe how careless Dexter is being about things. First the cameras catching him checking his boat for blood, then erasing the video file, and then killing that guy right in the box car he knew Lundy might be watching as a past crime scene? That was unnecessary.

^^Yeah I don't like who Dexter is morphing into. What happened to the meticulous serial killer? These dumb ho's are distracting him! I hate Lila and hate whiney Rita even more. He needs to find some chick who truly has a dark passenger. Lila's just a poseur imo.

How hot was Dexter in the sex scene though? I didn't know he had such a smoking bod.

lila's a contrived poseur and has a weird mouth but i still like her better than weak, whiny rita and her new puffy PS face. and at least with lila dex is finally having some hot sex, i'm sure rita was an awful lay.
as for his behaviour, even serial killers have existential crises. he'll get over it.

I do think a huge arc in the development of Dexter's character is/will be that he believes he's a monster incapable of feeling anything at all and that he can't change what he is. Already there's been hints that that's not the case (he's actually very thoughtful of Debra and Rita and her kids), even though he thinks it's part of his "normal" act. I think he's discovering that he is capable of feeling things for others, and that will be a whole other struggle, dealing with his feelings and reconciling it with his blood lust urges.

Right now I personally think killing is his coping mechanism for whatever feelings he had all his life, and for dealing with his messed up origins watching his mother get murdered.

I think she's falling for him because he's that father figure that she never had and she's getting those emotions confused. I don't want to see them grow into anything major.

I liked the ending where Dexter noticed that Lilah's light had been repaired. Ding. He gets it. Lilah destroys things in order to get what she wants. She wanted Dexter away from Rita and her kids and she used a fire to make him come running. I can't wait for a showdown between she and Rita. Rita will probably surprise us all and come out the winner in that fight.
