Anybody who lives north and has seen little ones shrink wrapped into their snowsuits will probably find this movie funnier than southerners would.

I love this movie too! Me and my boys watch it every year.

Ralphie's mom reminds me so much of my paternal Grandmother its uncanny. I finally watched the movie with my dad and he confirmed, "She's JUST like your Grandmother was..."

Own it and love it! There are so many great parts but this is probably my fave!

Naw, I know of three other people

I love it myself, try to watch it every year, and always look forward to my favourite scenes. I saw it first when I was in 8th grade and an unpopular girl brought it to school; the teacher played it and everyone loved her for one day.

Was he that? I'll have to google. He did have a mighty fine voice, and his is the only Christmas music I thoroughly enjoy.

I've never seen it. Is it a movie?

That's exactly how I watch it. And I probably watch it three or four times over the course of the 24 hours they run it on Christmas Eve. Elf is a close second as my favorite Xmas themed movie.

Just watched it this past weekend. Will Ferrell craps me up in those damn tights.

    Hard to say.

After Bing died, the oldest kid Gary wrote a scathing book about him, accusing him of beating the shit out of Gary and his 3 brothers. Two of the brothers, Lindsay and Dennis, publically agreed. Dennis' twin, Phillip, said it was all bullshit and if I'm not mistaken, I believe Bing's 3 younger children from his second marriage agreed. Lindsay and Dennis both eventually offed themselves.

Wow, that's interesting Laurent, thanks for the info. It's hard to know who to believe in cases like that, especially when the accusations are made after the person dies.

I love this movie. I remember when it first came out and I thought it looked like the stupidest movie ever. My parents made me watch it several years later after they discovered it. One of my favorite holiday movies now.

Love, love, love this movie. It's my favorite Christmas movie and we watch it at least three times every year. I'll be sad this year since it will make me miss snow even more. The Scott Farcus situation is my personal favorite.

I saw it the year it came out. A friend of mine told me about it--he's old enough to have actually wanted a Red Ryder BB gun himself. I went to see it in a nearly empty theater and loved it. It's one of the only movies that has ever captured for me the way a kid feels at Christmas time...You really believe that something wonderful might help, but you are so afraid it won't.

I think there's a lot of Ralphie in me. I always felt so misunderstood. And I got my mouth washed out with soap, even though my dad swore like a chimney. (I love the scene with the flat tire, myself.)

Anyway, a year or so later I made my siblings watch it and now they watch it every year.

I love this movie. When it's on for a full 24 hours on Christmas Eve it's all we watch. I love it so much I bought the 2-disc special edition of it on dvd a few years back.

I have that as well. I love the dad, by the way. His non swearing swearing is priceless. WE're watching it with the heathens this weekend.
