You'll never see it because of positive word of mouth, and critical acclaim?

The advertising for it has been VERY subdued, all the hype you hear is from professional critics, and people who've seen it.

I am from the American CIA and I have a radio in my head. I am going to kill you.

Actually I have very very close friends who have seen it and have absolutely loves it, my best pal went to see it twice, he loved it. But I am weird like that I can't see it now I have to at least wait awhile, I don't like when things get to hyped up, I always get let down. Not everyone is like this I understand.

Hollywood and their aganda pushing.
Its not overrated. And you cant really have much to say about a movie you havent seen. Also, Hwood actors have felt the need to closet themselves for many years. Its not a hwood issue, its a human issue.
Its not about two guys getting busy in the mountains. It has a very profound resonance to anyone who's felt alienated, full of fear, or caught in the futility of unrequited love. Bascially, feelings most every adult human being has felt.

Are the sex scenes intense? If they are I will buy a ticket tonight.

I'm not gay so I don't find the "sex scenes" intense. Early in the film they have the most explicit scene, but no sexual parts are shown just some pumping and kissing. There are a few longer than a few seconds kiss sessions. It's worth the ticket. I found other movies to be much more entertaining than this one. I couldn't get into the two male leads. i watched it a second time to find what I had missed to no avail. I liked Transamerica more than this one. Loved it!

I saw it today and actually I didn't like it that much. I thought it was a bit boring. I think they could had done it in much less time and that they could had emphasized in other things, such as the women presences that were, after all, a part of their lives. michelle and anne were great and so taken for granted. I can't stand anne and I loved her in the movie, she is that good in it.

heath and jake are amazing, specially heath, he truly deserves the oscar, great job. however, I had a hard time to undertstand how they got from "friends" to "falling in love". there was a lot of eye gazing moments, I give you that, but I don't think love is just about eye gazing. I think it lacked content. I just saw attraction, they didn't open their hearts, it was just some talking about their lives as kids or how the wives were doing. who can fall in love with that? as I said, they could had emphasized in other things.

about the sex scene, well I love rough sex, so no prob in there. but again, I didn't think it was much of a deal, I don't see what's the fuzz about. probably is from the ones that didn't see it (just heard about it). people are expecting a porn movie LOL. there's a movie that leonardo dicaprio plays a gay guy (rimbaud, poet) that there's much more nudity (and sex scenes) than this one.

and I saw some straight couples at the theatre, that was quite nice.

SPOILER: Ang Lee recounted in several interviews that when Michelle Williams needed to film a scene in which her character is devastated to discover that her husband is involved with another man, she asked Heath Ledger (her off-screen, as well as on-screen, love interest) and Jake Gyllenhaal to stand off camera and make out for her benefit. Ledger and Gyllenhaal agreed, and when she thought their kissing was not involved enough, she asked them to intensify it.

duh she wasn't upset; she was getting turned on!!!!

As a member of the animal-hugging brigade, I wasn't thrilled with the way the sheep were treated, but overall I really liked this movie. I'm not sure how to describe it, but I thought it was really well done, visually and acting-wise.

Once I got past Heath Ledger's Sling Blade accent I thought he did a fantastic job.

Ok, I FINALLY saw this movie on dvd tonight.

It was one of the saddest damn movies I've ever seen. It was just too depressing. Two people who love each other with that intensity, and can never be together, and live these lies which in turn make other people live lies, and then

Damn, I'm an idiot, so spoiler alert, highlight to read:

Ennis ending up living alone in that crummy little trailer.... ugh, the only thing at all uplifting was the gorgeous scenery. Was that actually in Wyoming? I had no thought of ever visiting Wyoming until tonight, if that was actually Wyoming.

I got bothered when Ennnis was bowing up at Alma in the kitchen, when he was a guest during Thanksgiving. I mean, I realize that his greatest fear was being exposed & all, but she was pregnant, and was upset herself, and just saying pretty much that she KNEW... he acted like he was going to bash her face in. I lost some sympathy for him at that point.

However, I felt TERRIBLE for him when he visited Jack's parents in that crazy all-white house, and they pretty much made it clear that Jack had a thing with another guy.

It was just too depressing. No hope at all. Made me think that we all ought to just kill ourselves.

That's why I haven't seen it yet. Or Monster's Ball. AND GODDAMN IT!!! WHY DID I KEEP READING BEYOND YOUR FIRST TWO SENTENCES?!?!! All this time, I've avoided all spoilers. DAMMIT!!!! *curses self, shakes fist*

I'm not too surprised about Ennis ending up alone in a trailer. BUT THAT'S ALL I KNOW SO FAR!!!! *grumbles about forgetting to avoid too many details*

Note to self: WATCH OUT FOR SPOILERS, YOU JACKASS. And avoid all threads for movies you haven't seen. Jackass.
