Someone said on Tumblr recently that shelters and graveyards are full of women who met their own Christian Grey, so no I have zero interest in seeing or reading this.

I've read a few reviews saying it's not terrible, only because it doesn't stick to the book much at all. No holy crap/double crap/holy cow/oh my! Still not planning on seeing it until I stumble across it on pay TV.

If Christian Grey was some average guy without all the money and helicopter rides and all the rest of it would the fans still be creaming their panties or would they think they were reading about an abusive dick?

Another interesting read. Posting a link as it is a verrrry long blog post. The Rambling Curl: Fifty Abusive Moments in Fifty Shades of Grey

I wouldn't even watch it on tv. I keep hearing a lot of reviews are saying that there is little to no chemistry between Dornan/Johnson. That doesn't bode well for a film that is supposed to be a scorching, erotic love story.

Like Katrina Lumsden says, would Christian Grey be as hot if he looked like George Costanza?

^Then having sex with him would be some true masochism right there.

See, I'm down with a hate watch. Fuck, a mate and I went to the second Twishite film armed with soft drink spiked with vodka and pissed ourselves laughing throughout it (much to the disgust of the Twihards in the cinema).

But then afterwards... y'know, we contributed to teh coffers of the creators of absolute shit.

My motto is stream the hate watch. Pay money for good cinema.

Totally agree with the comments where the idea of Christian Grey is only attractive as he's physically attractive. If he did look like George Costanza, no one would want it.

As for the lack of sex in the supposedly raunchy film - that doesn't surprise me, given that (allegedly - as I haven't read it) the sex in the book is quite vanilla anyway.... It's BDSM written by someone who apparently doesn't view porn, have much spectacular sex or ever experienced BDSM.

This was enough to not make me read the book.

They look very dull. Some women have a counting down clock on their facebook page to go and watch it with the girls (most are over 40)
Ehum, I am not going to watch bad soft porn with the girls. Makes me wonder what they get at home, to be excited about a guy that looks as interesting as the postman?
Plus I saw a movie with Jamie whatshisname, he is as good in acting as Lohan being Taylor.
He must be a fan of Friends because he was 'smelling the fart' the whole movie

I won't watch it or read the book.

But, I have had the 1st book at my house for 2 years. My middle daughter won it at college on casino night, playing bingo...lol. Several of her girlfriends borrowed it and then she brought it home to my bookshelf and left it over that Christmas break. I did just lend it to a coworker who wanted to read the book before seeing the movie next week. She has been giving me the CliffsNotes on it.

There is a group of women at my office that are making plans to go see it. It's an event. They are all in their forties and not to put to fine a point on it, but I bet most haven't been laid in years. They talk about the book like it's a lover and the are waaaaaay excited to go see the film. Have you guys noticed my bloody tongue?

Well 2 girls in my office are gushing (poor choice of words) about it and they're both young and reasonably hot. So it's not just the middle aged housewives who are into it.

I'd say it's the ones with questionable taste and lack of experience.

My staff was talking about going to see it the other day. I had to bite my tongue to keep from saying how stupid I thought it was.

Same thing is going on at my job. They are all going next Thursday night. I am not going because I'm not into S&M, or even porn really, to be truly honest. The office Christian isn't going either. She didn't think it would be a good move in her efforts to be a witness for Christ. I told her that was probably a good move on her part...lol

Bram Stoker is rolling in his grave for what this cunt did to vampire lore. Now she writes a book about porn. I know good porn when I see it, that crap she wrote is little more than toilet paper.

I'll watch it when it comes to Netflix or Amazon Prime. I'm not going to go out of my way to see it.

I'd reason that women must be jonesing for fantasy lady porn. How hard could it be to whip out a naughty screenplay? I think I'll see if I can do one that I would like to see. One with no abuse. Just hot sexy sex.

Meryl doesn't even try anymore. She just calls Lanvin and asks for curtains with a belt.~Bitter
Can we interest you in Leann Rimes? She has a nice little cadre of fans you'd probably enjoy.~ Pecan Pie
