This is the first season where I've watched more than 2 or 3 episodes max. I wouldn't watch at all if my kids didn't turn it on.

The reason is that the competition consistently favors blandness. I hate it when the judges salivate over people that you wouldn't hire to sing at your own wedding, they are so mediocre.

This year, of course, Adam intrigued me and Allison as well. For people who do not like Adam, I think even they can admit that he is a rarity for the show--something different and unusual who could really shake things up.

I had to stop watching for awhile because Megan Joy made me vomit (sorry to anyone who liked her). But then I started watching again, and noticed that Kris was better than I had thought.

It was so weird to see Simon criticize Allison for her lack of personality. What does he expect? She's 17 years old. She had amazing composure and presence when she sang, and she obviously was not an asshole or a bratty teenager, given how well the other contestants seemed to like her.

Plus, the irony that if she came on a show like Britain's Got Talent in 30 years wearing weird, funky clothes and being kind of bashful and awkward and then opening her mouth and singing like that, he would have fucking loved her.

Kris was the only contestant in the top 10 (or 15, or so) that wasn't featured from the beginning. Kris wasn't shown until Hollywood week. I remember thinking he wouldn't get far because he wasn't known like the others; especially Gokey since he was made to be a BIG deal since auditions.

It must suck for Kris knowing that no matter HOW well he does or how horrible the other two might do *Which will NEVER happen because oh the almighty Gokey and Lambert can do no wrong!!!* that next week will be his last...

It's pretty blatantly obvious that it will be a Pokey/Glambert finale.

Which is why I'm not watching.

NEVER has a season of Idol been so predictable.

I mean- I'd LOVE for Kris to persevere and boot one of them out of the competition *preferably Pokey* then that'd be great! But unfortunately I don't think that will happen.

I mean Kris was a dark horse in the very beginning of the competition. He was definitely not a front runner and not much was known about him in the beginning nor did he get a lot of camera time but look at him now!

    He's in the TOP 3!!!

I mean it's really quite remarkable that he's made it this far.

Unfortunately I believe he's next in line for the guillotine.

^I thought last year was predictable too. You're so right, no matter what Kris does, he's next to go. The best he can do is go out with a bang (with a great performance.) Although who knows... he might have more fans than we think. He's had a great run so far - only been in the bottom three once. I've learned from years of watching reality shit that the obvious choice rarely wins, so I'm not entirely sold on Adam. Everyone was saying the same thing all season about Archuleta and he lost to the dark horse. OK, pretty sure Adam WILL win, but I won't be too shocked if he doesn't.

    True...but not quite as predictable.

Are you going to at least check it out?

Speaking of homecomings, I still laughed my ass off at Archuleta's 'Gosh, where did they park?' comment. It was genius! Such a random thing to come out with... but also true. I thought that was cute the first time, and it was still cute.

Warning; this is a minute of your life you won't get back. That reaction was nothing! She obviously hasn't seen any other fantard videos on youtube.

they showed him on the news here, and the town is freaking out. Parents are taking their 13 yr olds out of school. there are grammas in the audience with their 'i love Adam' signs.

even if i wanted to go, i'm glad i didnt. the crowds are insane. He did a tv appearance, a radio gig, had a parade, and then off to MCAS miramar to privately meet with the troops.

I didn't know he was from San Diego (my home town). That's great. I hope he gets the appreciation he deserves. He is a unique talent.

Did they mention his song for next week is Mika's version of "Grace Kelly" ? The other two have been confirmed. Kris, One Republic's "Apologize" and Hokey, Terrence Trent D'Arby's, "Dance Little Sister".

10,000 Scream Along With 'American Idol'

After taking the stage, Lambert told the crowd to "embrace your weirdness."

Fans went wild as Adam Lambert returned to San Diego.

At 11:15 a.m., fans finally got got what they came for: a first-hand look at Adam Lambert, who drove onto the stadium in a bright-red Ford Mustang, waving to the screaming throngs.
"Rancho Penasquitos, please welcome home Adam Lambert," yelled the school's principal, Dr. Tom McCoy.
The crowd went crazy. It must be an overwhelming day for Lambert, who was already on local TV and radio, all as part of American Idol's traditional "hometown visit."
After taking the stage, Lambert told the crowd to "embrace your weirdness."
"This is an example of being who you are," Lambert said. "Anybody who feels different or weird, screw it.... It's cool to be different."
Mayor Jerry Sanders went onstage at one point, proclaiming Friday to be Adam Lambert Day.
Lambert opened up with a cover of Michael Jackson's "Black or White" and followed it up with Gary Jules' arrangement of Tears for Fears' "Mad World." At the end of that song, a young girl jumped onstage and took off her shirt (she had a bikini top on). She was escorted off the stage by bodyguards.
Even thought the sound system at the stadium was horrible and overmodulated, no one seemed to care.
The Idol did take care of some business while he was in town, reminding his audience, "So you guys are gonna help me out and vote!"
"You guys, how's it feel to be out of class today?" Lambert asked before leaving the stage. By 11:30 he was gone, taking one final lap around the track before leaving the stadium. He transferred to a white stretch limo not far away, which was thronged but able to make slow, steady progress off school grounds.
Later on Friday, he is expected to go to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, where he will visit with Marines, sailors and their families at the Bob Hope Theater. That event is not open to the general public. It is for active-duty service members, reservists, retirees and their family members only.

Oh wow, I LOVE Mika so this should be either awesome or godawful. I can't wait.

I also used to love Terence Trent D'Arby back in his hey-day and I'm terrified of Gokey getting anywhere near him.

Didn't Kara write the song "Grace Kelly"... or am I imagining that.
