    And for me

I love this girl. She is painfully gorgeous and I love her voice, even though everyone's saying she can't sing. It's personal taste I guess but I've loved her since her 'Can't Help Loving That Man of Mine' audition. Its the best I've ever heard that song.

Tatiana shouldn't have sang the same stupid song again. I wanted to hear her sing something else. Plus her facial expressions when she sings are almost 'pay per view' It ain't a porno honey.

there's an awful lot of single parents in the world. I'm always surprised to find a kid who still has both his mother and father together

The only person who can really sing that made it through the wildcard is Matt. Megan,Jasmine, and Anoop were all horrible. Hell,I'd have rather seen Tatiana make it in rather than either one of the girls that did. She at least has a decent voice. I also think that Jessie Langseth got robbed.

I don't think Megan and Jasmine have good voices, but they their looks did help them make the top13.

Simon just confirms why Britney Spears is famous. They don't look for brilliant singers, they look for someone they can package. The voice can be worked on, looks are a huge advantage. So is personality. Idol has always lost terrific vocalists and kept the mediocre singers who had commercial/physical appeal. Hello, Jason fucking Castro?

Jason Castro was so dopey I am surprised he lasted so long in the competition. His looks were alright but dull personality.

You know that song... it plays at the end of "Idol" when the contestant is cut and everyone is crying. The song becomes ubiquitous and plays everywhere (radio, your mom is humming it at home...). How could you forget.....

Season 5: Daniel Powter's "Bad Day" (it went on to sell 1.9 million copies and was the top digital download of 2006)
    Season 6: Daughtry's "Home"
Season 7: Ruben Studdard's "Celebrate Me Home" (uh yeah I forget that one too)

So who did they pick for Season 8??

Carrie Underwood Remake of Motley Crue’s “Home Sweet Home” Set as American Idol Season 8 Farewell Song

Lots and lots of rumors were floating around about which song would serve as the boot song for American Idol Season 8. David Cook’s “Daily AntheM and “Long Way” a new song from Daughtry’s upcoming album were rumored to be in the running.

As it turns out, It’s a remake of Motley Crue’s “Home Sweet Home” recorded by Season 4 winner, Carrie Underwood, that will send ousted Season 8 contestants on their way home.

Amazon has a sample of Carrie's version here: http://www.amazon.com/Home-Sweet/dp/B001UQYEXW (thanks floatingworlds )

    From the press release:

Season 4 American Idol winner, four-time GRAMMY winner, and 2009 ACM Entertainer of the Year nominee Carrie Underwood has recorded a song for the new season of American Idol. The song, a remake of Mötley Crüe's "Home Sweet Home," will air each week as the farewell theme for contestants leaving the show. The song will make its debut on American Idol on March 11, as the next contestant becomes eliminated from the show. "Home Sweet Home" will release as a digital single, found exclusively at iTunes through March 16, and will subsequently be available at online music retailers everywhere.

The release of the single will support a cause dear to Carrie's heart as Carrie, 19 Recordings, and Sony Music Nashville will donate a portion of the sales proceeds from "Home Sweet Home" to The Humane Society of the United States (The Humane Society of the United States).

“I’ve always loved this song,” says Carrie, “and besides being very fitting for Idol, to me, the title is also very fitting with animal rescue and finding animals their own homes.”

“We felt it was important to tie the release into an amazing animal charity like The HSUS,” says Carrie.

^^Yeah, and Anoop's reaction was priceless ("WHAT???") since they made it seem like he was cut.

Since they chose several questionable contestants already, IMO they made the whole thing with Anoop? look like he just won on Slumdog Millionaire. Totally turned me off the whole show and think he should have been seated sooner than several of the others instead of this sad display. There are about two or three really good singers and the rest are just ok so it looks like it's going to be a real boring season and a big surprise week of 2 eliminations - ew, ow. This show has so jumped the shark.

For the first time since the 3rd season, I have missed 2 episodes of AI.

I really really want to see Tatiana when she didnt' make the top 12 (13). Anybody know where there's a clip? I searched youtube but only found her singing that Whitney Houston song over & over. I would go to the AI website, but they make you download some program & my computer gave me so many "are you fucking sure about this?" messages that I said forget it.
