Don't feel bad sweetness, I'll live;
I wouldn't want Ryan Seacrest to put his arm around me either, so I don't blame Amanda for backing away. Theres no need for that, some people would rather not be touched.
Does Carly have a tattoo of Amy Winehouse on her arm? It sure looks like Amy.

Me too. I only like the people you mentioned, and I am not big on the others.

I was watching Entertainment Tonight last night and they were talking about David Hernandez "secret" that was just found out - before American Idol, he was a stripper in a gay bar. Used to strip and do lap dances for the patrons. They even interviewed him about it and he talked about it like it was any ole job. They interviewed the producer of the show, who just said since it's not illegal to be a stripper, he's got no problem with what David's job was.
Now, I don't care, either...but, I wonder if his being a stripper for other men is going to be a determining factor for some who would have normally voted for him...??

I don't really care about David Hernandez's job. I like him and I think he's one of the few who is not a plant and actually deserves to be there. Unlike the large majority of finalists, he wasn't just handed a spot because of industry connections that he already had. The show is supposed to be about undiscovered talent getting a chance to go from nothing to stardom, and that's exactly what David is doing.
Working as a stripper is not something I would ever do, but sometimes you have to take the job that best suits your needs. Being a stripper gives you pretty flexible hours, working mostly in the evening, and from what I understand they make pretty good money. If that's the kind of job he needed to take temporarily to make ends meet, fine.
And if he's gay, so what? Like 90% of the guys on that show aren't?

It doesn't bother me one bit that David's a gay stripper. If he were a criminal that would be a whole different matter.
IMO, he's one of the top 3 talented contestants on the show. He's earned his spot there. That's all that I care about.

He was always kinda "meh" to me. But, I watched him in that interview and actually liked him because of it. He wasn't even that good looking to me, until they showed the pictures of him in the strip club!! Weeeheeee

But isn't that the problem? After 7 seasons with x thousand auditions there can't be that much truly 'undiscovered' talent left out there. I'm sure there used to be a rule about contestants not being allowed to participate if they had previous recording contracts (well that's the rule in Aussie Idol anyway) and it seems that a lot of the singers this time are already semi-professional singers. I don't mind, but I think the talent pool is getting pretty shallow now.

i would think, that with the audition process, a lot of people get passed up for whatever reason. maybe they suck on a certain day. or maybe they aren't old enough at the audition time. there is NO way that they have found ALL the undiscovered talent. what would people like me do if there was no American Idol?

My daughter said the same thing!
To me it kind of looked like an Asian lady, but I'm gonna try to get a better look.

One Cook Too Many in "A.I." Kitchen
Posted Mar 11th 2008 6:44PM by Harvey Levin
The "American Idol" rehearsal has just ended, and our spies came through again.

Kristy Lee Cook could kill the surviving two Beatles with her country rendition of "Eight Days a Week." To make matters even worse, the crafty producers put her right before David Archuleta, who went last.
David Cook, on the other hand, delivered big with what could be the best performance -- a rocked-out version "Eleanor Rigby" -- no guitar this time.
David Archuleta's dad (aka stage dad) was sitting next to "A.I." E.P. Nigel Lythgoe. Nigel took aside David Cook, David Hernandez and Ramiele. It looked like he gave Cook props and constructive criticism to the other two.
Ryan Seacrest grilled Chikezie like a cheeseburger over the TMZ story that Chike-poo worked at LAX as a baggage screener and made the TSA choir. Ryan suggested Chikezie once found a blow-up doll in Simon's bag. Hard to tell if he was kidding.
And David Hernandez ... in his montage video that focused on previous employment, he said he was a pizza guy who got fired. No mention of his pepperoni at his other job.
As we first reported, the finals will be held at the Nokia Theatre in downtown L.A.
Tomorrow night, Katharine McPhee will perform.
David Hernandez -- "I Saw Her Standing There"
Syesha Mercado -- "Got To Get You Into My Life"
Michael Johns -- "Across the Universe"
Carly Smithson -- "Come Together"
David Cook -- "Eleanor Rigby"
Brooke White -- "Let It Be"
Chikezie -- "She's a Woman"
Ramiele Malubay -- "In My Life"
Jason Castro -- "If I Fell"
Amanda Overmyer -- "You Can't Do That"
David Archuleta -- "We Can Work It Out"
Kristy Lee Cook -- "Eight Days a Week"

I just saw the hair, teased up hair on the crown with the headband, and the eyeliner and I thought 'Amy'. It is pretty cool looking!

As usual they're shoving their favorites down our throats. "Blown away" by Amanda's "amazing" performance. Praising Carly. Whatever.
David Hernandez, for me, was the only one tonight who actually managed to deliver a solid performance and have good stage presence without looking and/or sounding awkward and uncomfortable. I also liked Jason Castro. But like always, the judges basically slammed them and heaped praise on the plants. I also think Jason and David Hernandez are the only ones who don't go out there and do the same thing every week.
IMO they already have the finalists picked out and they're just going through the rest of the performances and "cuts" as a formality.

David Hernandez didn't shine at all this week. It was boring. As was Ramiele Malubay's.
I thought David Cook was fantastic...and other than this week and last week, I always thought he was just "meh". He's really getting better every week that goes by.
I really liked Michael John's preformance. Was very nice. Nothing spectacular, but I could definitely listen to that.
Lord almighty...that Kristy Lee Cook singing "Eight Days a Week" country version...OMG..
Quick...bring out that sweet kid, David Archuleta to save my ears from that "Eight days a week" crap.

I liked Michael Johns too. David Archuleta just totally forgot the words and butchered that song so they better not fucking give him one OUNCE of praise this time.

Yeah, I saw that (twice) ...poor kid. I don't know what it is about that boy, but I just want to hug the hell out of him! I really like him. Although, I don't think he had anything to worry about this week, there were people alot worse than him.
Kristy Lee Cook say "goodbye"
