Poor thing, he's nothing at all like my Chris (Daughtry).
Jewel was kinda tough tonight, wasn't she? Usually the guest judges are sweet & encouraging. She gave 'em all the smackdown.

Well Jewel's hosting her own singing show now too. She's the new host of Nashville Star for some reason I don't understand since she isn't a country singer. She was good as a host though.

Oh man. Some of it is so horrible. Akward as ass. Why do they let some of them go on so? It becomes not funny and just painful. But yet, I can't turn away......

Seemed like it dragged on tonight. They spent too much time on each person, especially that first girl. And too few good people.
Hopefully tomorrow's is better or at least funny!

Well tomorrow's is Seattle, I think, and there were a lot of media reports about how Seattle was the worst city they've ever been to for audition, so I'm not expecting them to show a lot of talent.

Isn't Seattle the one that Paula Abdul talked about in her "No I'm not drunk" interview?
She must have some kind of alcohol/drug issue. They hardly had her saying anything last night either. She looked really out of it the few times they did concentrate on her.

Why do they keep her on? Does she have a 10 year contact, or what?

Paula was DRUNK OFF HER FUCKING ASS.. and I loved it. She was tanked to the gills.
Contestant comes in and they ask "Why are you here?"
Contestant answers "i'm here to be the newest American idol."
Paula "Well DUHHHHHH." *spins in her chair*
slayed me.

^ That's what was so hilarious about it. She seemed serious...poor thing. Great for Tv, though.
I feel really bad for the people who honestly think they have talent. They are so heartbroken when they get rejected.
Then there are the ones who argue with Simon and Randy. "Well I've had 10 years of musical training!!" Oh really...

Training doesn't equal talent.. you can be trained how to drive a car but still suck at it.

Seattle had some crazy people so they exploited that, but they didn't have the worst singers. That's the spin they're putting on it, when really, a lot of good singers were denied so that they could have some good tv with the crazies getting to the judges.
After last season, they offered Paula a contract to stay on for 3 more seasons ...

I turned it off afte the first contestant. It was pathetic. I think she was better than they said. It was humiliating, cringeworthy and not good tv.
Watched Dateline NBC instead and that show at least was halfway decent (they're doing too many skanky features these days).

I don't watch the early rounds anymore because its all about humiliation. I wait til they get to Hollywood.
