I thought Clay's geeky little fantard was going to wet himself with joy. He looked sincerely surprised. That was pretty funny.

Why does Clay Aiken look like Derek Foreal from Blow? Pee-wee Herman isn't exactly the route you want to go when you're battling gay rumors.

Um, Miss Warwick's voice is showing its age.

Did anyone ask Dionne what her prediction for the winner would be?

Yay for Taylor. Hopefully he'll follow in Ruben's path to obscurity....

The Prince thing was awesome though. It was the only performance I was unspoiled on. They kept it completely under wraps from what I can tell.

I know he's not the greatest singer in the world, and I know he gets spastic, and gets on some people's nerves, but dang it, every time he performs, he makes me smile. I love watching him, and he does have a really good voice.

My mom sorta got mad at me b/c the cable box went out upstairs where she was watching American Idol and I was taping the Lost finale down here, so she missed Taylor's glory singout. I didn't wanna risk missing the Lost finale, I was more involved in that show than American Idol this year.

WOOT! Yay for Taylor! Now, just release a good ol' throwback soul album and I'll be happy. Yeah, I've heard better singers, but I love him for the same reason that I like Fantasia-- anyone who can get down with a choir and hold their own with some true rythm and blues (not the modern ish, I mean 50s-70s style) totally has my vote. It's the soul that makes all the difference.

They pulled out all the stops for this year's finale, I thought for sure they'd never top last year! But Dion Warwick, Prince, Mary J., Live...! Wow. Unfortunately, Meatloaf was...something. It's too bad because I love Bat Out of Hell II. Katherine was wonderful tonight and that's unusual for me to say because I've never been a Katherine fan. Paris was phenomenal (I don't care if I'm the only person on Earth who actually likes her). In fact, everyone aside from Ace sounded at least "remarkably decent."

And they had Turkey Boy, Rhonetta(sp?), and Crazy Dave! WOOHOO! I was so hoping they'd get Super Tan Girl, though. Ah well. Clay's face was hysterical when he came out as that other guy was attempting to sing. Actually, I think the other guy's reaction was even funnier.

All in all, I'm pleasantly surprised by tonight's show, even though I already knew Taylor would win. Dial Idol's called it all season.
