Yeah, me too. I don't get all the complaining. The show is progressing and changing pretty much in the same way that the books are written.

There aren't many of the original characters left now (there's only rick, carl, carol and darryl). All the others like Michonne, Eugene, Sasha etc, came in later on and were part of the expanding storylines.

I love seeing the disparity between Rick's and Maggie's reactions to the Saviors coming to collect.
Hell, Maggie saw them kill her husband, you think she'd be the one to snivel like a baby, but instead it's brought BA Maggs back

I'm enjoying this season. We need to see this character/community building. The only way they will take Negan down is together, and the only way to be invested is to learn about the other communities. It will make his eventual take down and the rebuilding of a new world more enjoyable, in my opinion. It doesn't have to be epic walker wars every week. The show really is about the people.

What I want to know is how Negan found so many bad asses to join his group, and, if they really are such bad asses, why they haven't united to kick his narcissistic, bloviating ass. I would think there would be a lot of coup attempts and power struggles in that group. Honestly, Lucille really isn't much of a match for a gun and they have a ton of them. I would like to know how he rose to power and why everyone is so scared of him. I actually find Simon scarier than Negan. He creeps me out.

I think I may have missed something somewhere in that episode.....so it was only Maggie and Sasha that went to Hilltop, right? So who brought Abe & Glenn's bodies there to bury? I can't imagine those two lugging them along. Did I miss a body retrieval part of the episode? Or a past episode? I was exhausted Sunday, so I could have missed a whole chunk o' stuff.

I didn't love this episode...especially considering there are only two left in this front half! I've enjoyed the season so far -- I feel like they had to take some time to introduce the new communities, but now we need to move forward and we need to see more regular characters instead of meeting more new ones.

    ^agree.

Did anyone hear the rumor Carl may be leaving the show? He twitted he was accepted at Auburn University. He was such annoying child, but he has grown up and my attitude towards him has changed. I'd hate to see him go.

Well if TWD continues to make entire episodes devoted to one character - Chandler Riggs has plenty of time to go off to college. As it is we only see him every few weeks, totally doable between semesters.

Rating aren't looking good for TWD down from 17.1 million (S7E1) to 10 million (S7E5). After reading the forums on IMDB, AMC better do something. They could start with firing Scott Gimple. The show's quality has reduced with each episode since he has been there.

Yes, but he's not leaving the show. His 7 year contract is up, but others just negotiated for season 8.

Auburn is very close to where they film. He will be able to shoot and attend college.

I still don't get the bitching about this season. I like the changes and seeing the bigger world. 10 million may be down but it still huge numbers for a cable show.

I don't like the single character episodes, go back to soap style where you get a glimpse of everyone and then everything coming together.
The island crew was very interesting, and very eye opening I think Tara is going to be a big proponent of doing what Negan says. She realized how easy they really got off.
I think next week Carl is going to be by Negan's side while he makes his big speech. Can't wait!

That's also the second highest rated episode of any TWD episode ever, it's not like they were pulling in numbers like that every week.

I'm with Gas, I'm enjoying it so far this season. I don't get the" OMG, let's only focus on the core group (who are almost all dead now anyway)". Different strokes and all...

I posted about this last week but it bears repeating -- this is the top-rated show on cable. Over NFL football, even. There isn't another episodic cable show that even cracks the top 25 programs. Just this one.

I didn't feel that way until last night. I like Tara, but an entire episode with just her, and a little Heath, made me a little nuts when I found out there are only two more episodes left in the first half of the season! I think the new community is very interesting and I can't wait until all these communities start trading and communicating and plotting against Negan. I would have loved to have seen more of her with Eugene and Rosita. Eugene's face broke my heart.

I would love a timeline of when all this is happening. Are they all different viewpoints over pretty much the same few days? I'd also like a map so I could understand where all these communities are in relation to each other.
