Re: The Academy Awards and Preshow
I watched Joan Rivers on the TV Guide Network and she was great--love her. Say what you want, but the chick is funny.

Re: The Academy Awards and Preshow
I felt bad for Lauren Bacall when she stumbled all over the words for whatever she was presenting.

I'm doing really well on enhanced TV for the Oscars. My score for my picks and trivia have me in the top 10 scorers so far

I have no idea. It was really awkward, nonetheless.

Re: The Academy Awards and Preshow
Wow, no kidding. I'm like, I hope this is over soon (lauren bacalls part)!
Brokeback just won for best score. I think they really deserve it. Heath and Michelle look AMAZING. Heath didn't wear any cheesy wrap around shades on the red carpet so I was happy!

I'm happy Brokeback won best score. I remember noticing during the movie how beautiful it was. Plus I'm always happy when a first time nominee wins over John Williams for score
Wow, Meryl Streep looks GORGEOUS!

Re: The Academy Awards and Preshow
BROKEBACK DID NOT WIN BEST PICTURE. It went to that hamfisted racism opus Crash, which was (i'm sorry) so blatantly obvious and so gratuitous with smashing the audience over the head with the "racism is bad" motif that it was ridiculous.
Bah.

Re: The Academy Awards and Preshow
You know, I wouldn't have been upset if Crash had been an outstanding movie. it wasn't outstanding, but it was pretty darn good. It was just WAY too hamfisted. It had to ram racism down your throat in the most extreme ways possible in order to make a point, and that wasn't needed.
Give me the understatement and 'what wasn't said' beauty of Brokeback ANY DAY.
