Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

Okay, so I admit, I haven't seen this yet, but I wanted to start a thread for people who had. As you know, his show premiered last night, so I want a few reviews from here before I check it out. I've been reading most people say the show really sucks, and Fallon keeps laughing awkwardly during the sketches.

I for one love Jimmy Fallon. He and Tina Fey in SNL was always my favorite Weekend Update. I was extatic when I heard he was the one who'd take over after Conan.

The show so far has been pretty funny, some things haven't been great but come on.. To dismiss the show after three episodes? Conan had like what.. 14 years?

Watch it if you like Jimmy Fallon, if not.. don't.
Of course he laughs during sketches, if he couldn't keep it together for the years in Snl, he can't now.

I don't care, Conan was awesome. I'm sad he's finished. He had one of the better late night talk shows. Leno is excruciatingly unfunny, and Letterman is OK but Conan was the BEST.

I agree, I loved Conan. His was the only talkshow I watched, and I can't wait 'til june 1st. But being that he stopped doing the show, they had to replace him. And when I heard they were considering Jimmy Fallon I really couldn't picture anyone else doing it.

Love LOVE Conan! Fallon was never my cup of tea, even at his best on SNL. Alone, he's just super annoying to watch.

I think it's funny how this thread is devolving into Conan love like the other Jimmy Fallon Late Night thread.

I'm watching him right now and he had a few hits and misses with his opening monologue. He reminds me of Norm MacDonald, when every time he tells a joke he waits for the audiences' reactions. I really hate that. They'll laugh if they want to.

I have to say I enjoyed him sometimes on SNL. Especially weekend update with Tina!

The Roots are on the show so at the least if the show sucks, I know the music will be good!

So far IMO his monologues have sucked but he has had some decent guests.

I'm glad others here love Conan. I still have his final episode on DVR - with Andy Richter making an appearance. It was hysterical too see all those old clips.

So i was in NYC and I decided to go get stand by ticket to see Fallon just for the hell of it. I did get a ticket but they only let the first 24 people in. I was like the 51st. Oh well...

Yeah so when your career in acting doesn't take off you take over as host for a late night show that can NOT be touched...

CONAN IS IRREPLACEABLE TO ME DAMN IT!

IMO Jimmy comes off as awkward. He's got a few nervous ticks that bug the hell out of me.

A few episodes I couldn't even finish watching because there were too many cringe worthy moments and I genuinely was embarrassed for him.

I mean...if there was ever any awkwardness in an interview with Conan he would play on it...he knew how to work it.

Jimmy will just kind of give a blank stare...turn to the audience and shrug.

I've caught the beginning of the show a couple of times. I turned it off because the only one who was laughing at his stuff was literally HIM. The audience was not amused.
