Default What movies have you seen recently?

Just saw Lord of War last night with the BF. I thought it was pretty cool. Nicholas Cage, for all his offscreen antics, is one of my favorite actors.

Brothers Grimm (HORRIBLE), Corpse Bride (loved it), Serenity (loved it more, but I was a hugantic Firefly fan), and the Wallace and Gromit movie (very, very cute, the boyfriend and I did a lot of giggling during it).

I think the last movie I saw in the theater was Mr and Mrs Smith (I thought it was funny... bf thought he was going to hate it, but actually thought it was a lot of fun).

The most recent rental was Oldboy, which I highly recommend. Very gripping, beautiful, disturbing film.

You should check out the website. George Lutz (the real one) maintains it. He hates the new one because of the violence he claims he never did (ie killing the dog, the references to child abuse etc).

^^Yeah, but none of it was true anyway. They admitted everything was a hoax. It's still interesting though!

March of the Penguins: I really enjoyed it. Sometimes it just felt like you really understood the penguins, like they had human emotions!

Flightplan: Well, I'm not a really large fan of "kid went missing" movies but I liked this one. Plus Sean Bean was in it, and he wasn't a bad guy! I love Sean...

Saved!: Old, but I just bought it since HMV was having a 3/$20 DVD sale, and I really like it! It's very funny.

I just watched that, too! (well, I heard most of it, while I hid behind a blanket)

What's the website? And it was really all a hoax?

Corspe Bride, only because im a fan of Tim Burton, B+

God forbid that I'll see anything with Nicholas Cage, it's dry as Parises singing ability.

Flight Plan was a sleeper, although it did capture Jodie's worst performance yet.

40 Year Old Virgin, AWESOME!!

Yes, it was a hoax. Ronald Dafoe's lawyer went public ages ago about the fact that the Lutz's story was completely fabricated. It's common knowledge now.

I had to laugh when I read Lutz was mad about the writers making things up when he's a big liar himself. Oh, the irony.

WOW I didnt know that. I just saw a show about it on I believe A&E and they explained that before the Lutz's lived there a family had lived there that were murdered by the son/brother. I bought into the whole thing. I remember when I was like 13 yrs old I read the book and was so freaked out for weeks.

Well the part about the family being murdered in the house by the brother was true. http://www.amityvillemurders.com/ This website is really good for info on that. It's a really creepy story. (It's pretty detailed and for a warning, it even has the crime scene photos.) But everything after that is false involving the Lutz's. (The above website also has all the info on the hoax.)

I just saw The Fog this weekend.

If you are looking to see more of Tom Welling's bodythan you usually do on Smallville, then you will be gravely disappointed. You do not get to see more of Tom than you do in the average Smallville football shower scene or in one of the usual sequences when he somehow loses his shirt and the bad guys tie him up.

The love scenes he is in during this movie are not believable, because though the boy has the face of an angel he simply cannot act.
The special effects are not bad but the story is sorely lacking.

I think that if they had better actors, it might of turn out a better movie.
