I saw the same movie you did Witchcurlgirl. It deserved best picture. It wasn't as simplistic as 007 in Iraq.

I don't think Avatar was a piece of shit at all. And really how can you say that if you haven't even seen it? It was highly entertaining, a real rollercoaster ride of a movie. Total visual feast. But no way Oscar worthy, not a piece of shit either.

I have to watch The Blindside. I still can't imagine Bullock's performance was better than Streep's though. I do the the Oscars rewards people who plug away at it long enough with an award. I guess there's hope for Brad Pitt getting one some day too. LOL.

So you have never ever seen a trailer and thought no way I want to see that piece of shit movie? It's not something I want to see and yes I can tell from the trailer.

You can't always tell from the trailer. And if I were to judge by the trailer of The Blindside, I'd say "No way did Sandra Bullock with that hokey Southern accent and the bad blond dye job deserve an Oscar. Streep was robbed!"

But I didn't see it, so I don't say that.

All I said was it looked like a piece of shit to me so I don't care to see it and I'm glad it lost.

Well it wasn't a piece of shit imo, but I'm glad it lost too. It wasn't an Oscar film, more of a Disneyland ride.

What does The Academy base Best Picture on? I have always wondered...

i have to say, i think it's all kinds of awesome that a chick won best director for a war movie.

OK I'll say it for you. Sandra is no Meryl and this performance was no different. However I'm OK with it because both ladies are OK with it. Beside if Meryl won every time she deserved to win no one else would want to even show up.

Seems to me if you haven't seen a movie you don't get a vote.

hey Bellini am I forgiven yet?

Meryl should probably have 16 Oscars right now. She is so good that it works to her disadvantage. I think the Academy thought, well we can't give it to Meryl every time she's nominated, so let's start picking other people. She is on a level all her own.

I know! It's crazy. Kathryn was born in 1951 and Suzy in 1962, according to IMDb.

    The Academy Awards seemed so....sparse.

The interpretive dance, the backdrop with lamps. I wonder if they were keeping it to a minimum because of the recession. It was kind of weird.
