True Blood-HBO's new vampire series
I've heard the books are really good. I'll have to read them.
I wasn't overly impressed with the show but the reviewers said it takes a few episodes to gather steam so I'll keep watching.
Anna Paquin sure grew up cute.

I read the books and I definitely recommend them- I saw the leaked pilot online and the show is close to the spirit of the books but I think they have changed cast members and a few plot points. But I am looking forward to seeing the final cut pilot and series. I wasnt sure about Anna Paquin as Sookie - but after seeing the pilot, I was impressed.

I watched it last night. I thought it was good. I'll definitely keep watching.
I never read the books. I'll have to start.

I was just about to post to see people's views. I was really unimpressed but I guess I'll give it a few more episodes. The whole "coming out of the coffin" was a little campy, with everyone so fascinated. I thought it was really over-acted too. We'll see though, that Vamp was hot!

I really liked Anna's character of Sookie. I'm going to keep watching.
But with this and Twilight is the world not yet sick of vampires? I never thought I'd think that but maybe I am.

^ Nope its going to be more if both Twilight and True Blood do really well- The Mercedes Thompson series might be made into a movie as well and there are few more Urban Fantasy books being bought up as well. The key thing is if the adaptation is true to the books.

I sort of liked the pilot, it shows a mass of promise. It just didn't grab me terrifically.

I've watched the first two episodes-so far, I like it. It's certainly different, and I love its unique atmosphere.
I'm also in love with the credits.

I'm going to give this show a few more episodes. Vampire Bill is hot though! The Tara character irritates me, she's too over the top.
I can't get over how the plot seems opposite of the "Twilight" books in some ways, ie. someone who can read minds.

It comes on Sunday nights at 9 p.m., and then they repeat it throughout the week, especially on Thursday and Friday nights. They also have it on HBO On Demand.

K so I got the first book but started watching the show before I read it.
For some reason I just cannot get into it (the book). The show looks good though. I like it.
