I was in the play in college and it was too much fun. We watched the movie beforehand and it was WONDERFUL. I'm just not sure this cast can let themselves go enough to be that catty

Is that Joan Crawford? It is, I know it is, she was stunning back then. Now I have to get this movie!

Baaaaaaaaaad idea. This cast will only embarrass themselves by comparison to the original.

"The Women" is one of my favorite movies. No one, no one can compare to Rosalind Russell. It had such a great cast. I don't like any of the actresses in this remake. Ugh to Meg Ryan, barf to Jada Pinkett Smith and don't bother to Annette Benning. Ew don't get me started on that Will and Grace actress she sucks so hard.

Of course I'll probably rent it all the while mocking it. I really hate when they try to remake such absolutely perfect movies and fail so badly.

Maybe it will be wonderful, but I have very little hope with that cast.

Ooh. I hate it when Meg Ryan has cocker spaniel hair and trout lips.

Sounds like I might have to rent the original and skip the remake.

I just saw this movie yesterday and it was brilliant! I loved it, it was hilarious and funny and touching. Loved it. Annette Bening and Meg Ryan were both brilliant, and the rest of the cast were pretty great too. I've never seen the original to compare it to, but it's definitely worth a watch. Very good.

I saw it right after it came out - had actually really been looking forward to it. I walked out feeling quite bad. Not to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but I just couldn't get into the overwhelming theme that Meg's character should just look the other way. Maybe it was because there was no development of her and her husband's relationship, so I wasn't invested in the idea that she had anything worth saving.

Also - I just didn't buy the relationship between any of them except her and Bening, and that was only at the very end of the movie.

It was pretty unsatisfactory to me.

I saw the review for it, on the local news not too long ago, and it looked terrible.

It probably helps if you didn't see the original one and than you would have nothing to compare it too. Also in 1939 women were pretty much like that, everything for the man.

    Absolutely Atrocious.

I'm glad I watched it online and didn't pay for it. The script was all over the place. I didn't even compare it to the original but I did expect the twist at the end like it was in the original because it was so funny (Sylvia getting her just desserts).

What's funny is that Meg looked normal, good even. I didn't notice a trout pout. Her character had no passion. At least in the original film you knew that Mary Haines loved and adored her husband. She was so shocked by the affair as she was madly in love with him.

They made Sylvia (Bening) sappy and sentimental. I love Annette, but she was really lousy. Wickedly bad makeup and hair too. She had the oddest contralto voice.

Lastly, Debra Messing as the whiny, messy, baby making, food in her mouth frump. Good God. They put her in these getups that made her look like Alla Nazimova the silent film actress if anyone knows who she was.

Typical Hollywood looks like a television show garbage.

But Eva Mendes is one gorgeous woman.

Saw it. HATED it. To call it "retarded" is a compliment. It made no sense, at all. I hate when chick flicks try to be about female empowerment, yet simultaneously promote consumerism. I swear, there were three separate Dove ads in the movie.
I saw a film today, oh boy.
