    Default An American Tail movies

I swear, the first movie is the saddest animation I have ever seen. I watched bits of it last week and it made me very emotional. Must be the music. And the fact that Fievel is lost and stuff.
    Anyone else a fan?
I actually prefer the sequel to the original (and the music) but that's just me.

Oh my gosh! I remember these movies. I liked "Fievel Goes West".

But this is my main memory of those movies:

Wow nostalgia! The music is beautiful in those movies. It always made me tear up when I was little...just like the "Land Before Time."

Oh my gosh, when Fievel starts to cry and gets angry and says "Well if my family isn't looking for me, I'm not looking for them!" and then sobs and goes: "This is my home now..." I seriously burst a tear duct. The music is insane. How does one make such moving music?!? It makes me cry over a Jewish mouse who is dead now anyway because it was set in the 1800's.

And although Dreams to Dream from the 2nd movie is my favourite song ever, I have to say the kids version of Somewhere Out There is awfully beautiful. I like it better than the polished adults version. Peabo Bryson or James Ingrahm or whoever the male singer is should have toned it down. This isn't the National Vocal Acrobatics tournament. He doesn't even sing the tune he's supposed to.

I like the bit when Tanya starts singing. When I was little I used to find her voice captivating just when she sings "Somewhere"... lol. All the rest was out of key.

I remember always crying when they sang "Somewhere out there." I didn't see any of the sequels but I absolutely loved the original!

OMG, I was so little when this movie came out, but I remember it well. I cried and fell in love with this movie. Thank you so much for making a thread about this, Allie.

I'm considering naming our next dog Fievel. I always wanted to name a pet that since I was little... forgot about it until this year... I might do it. I do like the name Brighton though so maybe not.
But it'd be great coz I'd stand at the door to call him and say in a Russian accent like the mother in the movie: "Fieeeveeeel!! Fievel Mouskeviiiitz!"
