The Golden Girls
One of my favorite sitcoms ever!!
And I just know there are others out there who feel the same.
Anyone have a favorite episode?? Favorite character?
Hard to narrow down a favorite character for me personally, they were all so likeable in different ways.
I watch this show every chance I get!!!

i love this show. the one thing i HATED on this show is the name calling they did to Rose. other than that, it is a great show.
its hard to pick a favorite episode. i'll have to think about it.

One of my faves as well. Not so much when it was in regular season but I never miss the reruns now. In fact I watch it every Mon-Fri on Lifetime at midnight (double-feature each night)~

I watch this show a few times a year when there's nothing else on and am always amused. I'm not sure a show like this - with older actresses as the main leads - would be a success today. Not enough sex and sizzle for the 18-49 demo these days.

I've seen every single episode of this show, and can still watch it and laugh.
When I lived with my parents, my mom and I would watch the reruns every day. I kind of wished they had made another season, because I didn't like Golden Palace at all. It just wasn't the same without Dorothy.

I love the show and still watch it when I can. I loved all of the girls but I hated the way Sophia treated Dorothy sometimes.

Oh I loved Sofia! I wanted to be as bitchy and funny as she was when I was growing up. She was so my hero. I also loved how lovably stupid Rose was.

Every second was hilarious. I love watching the repeats when I remember. Anyone remember when Dorothy was telling the story about how she was really angry she didn't get a teacher's job and she's like "and i sat in the car really angry and then I looked up at the rear-view mirror and saw this old woman staring back. And then I knew why I didn't get the job."
And there's a pause and Rose nods in understanding and goes: "Ohhh....... Who was it?"
lol.
"It was me, Rose!"
I saw that 15 years ago and I laughed myself stupid.
I love the theme song too. Does anyone know if that version was a full length song at all?

Sorry but at that point it would have been, "Picture it, Brooklyn, 1954." I watch two hours of Golden Girls on weekdays. They come on at 9am and 4pm, EST.

Yep, it was.

"Thank You for Being a Friend" is a popular song written by Andrew Gold. He recorded it for his third album, All This And Heaven Too, and the single version reached #25 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1978.
The song later got life as the theme song to The Golden Girls in a version recorded by Cynthia Fee. It was also re-recorded in a more modern, "Reggae Mix" style for the show's spinoff, The Golden Palace.

But is the one by Cynthia a full-length song?
