If you want to read the full descriptions,
please go to YesbutNobutYes

10) 28 Days Later - The Eye Gouge
9) American Psycho - The Hatchet
8) The Hitcher - The Girlfriend Splits

7) Bonnie & Clyde - The Showdown

6) Scarface - The Shower Scene (with the chainsaw)

5) The Godfather - Sonny at the Tollbooth

4) Silence of the Lambs - The Cage
3) Natural Born Killers - Rodney in the Fishtank
2) Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer - TV Salesman

They picked intensity over comical exaggeration; so no "Say Hello to my
little friend!" scene on the list.

Some honorable mentions (from those who posted):
Murphy gets killed in Robocop 1;
SPOILER (in white print)>>> Joe Pesci gets buried alive in Casino ;
A Clockwork Orange (only 1 death in it -- the old lady in the house)
The final shootout in The Wild Bunch

What about the vice grip scene in Casino? Made worse by it being something that really happened!

That scene in American History X gave me nightmares, even though they didn't really show it. Just the idea.........

Why didn't his character get more prison time for that, anyway? That was a brutal, nasty, horrible way to kill someone.

I would say that any death scene in Haute Tension should make it on to there. They really got up close and personal.

I'm guessing most violent means man-caused violence? Because I have seen Quint get eaten by JAWS a thousand times and it still makes me cringe.

That was bad but I think it counts as a slasher film which he said he didn't include.

I'm surprised no one mentioned any Quentin Tarantino movies like Pulp Fiction, but in particular, Reservoir Dogs. I can't even watch it- it's a bloodbath!
