I'm sure the film looked great on paper but actors have little to no control over the end product. I think they just have to do their job and then hope for the best.

I rented it out, but never got the chance to watch it. I heard it was oretty good, but Jennifer would've ruined it for me.

Ugh, too late for me. I saw that stinker in a movie theatre here in Greece several months ago. So bad it was almost funny.

To me, JLo seems to be the same in every part. Her speech never changes and her accent is always the same, too. When people get so overexposed it becomes very difficult to see them as anything but themselves on screen. It just looks like, "Oh, there's JLo playing a waitress" or "Oh, there's crazy Tom Crusie pretending to be a lawyer".

You know its sad because the subject matter really deserves a good movie. I wanted to see it just for that, but of course, I realized it would probably suck big time. I guess from these reviews my hunches were correct.

Haha, so many actors are like that, David Duchovney speaks in complete monotone...always. Drew Barrymore is never anyone but her cute self, and don't even get me started on Steven Seagal...

J.Lo has only ever acted well in two movies, imo: Selena and Out of Sight. But she's still not that great an actress, it's just hype and name recognition with her.

I totally agree with you. Usually strait to DVD's are skunks like steven seagal or van damme, not movies with serious subject matter like these with relatively big name stars.
