I am seeing it on the weekend and can't wait. I love these types of movies.

Tom Hanks in Castaway......which I hated, but it was the same sort of role

Me too, he did an amazing job.

Tom Hanks may have done a similar role but that movie was so so boring. Will Smith was captivating.

I saw it tonight (just finished it) and thought it was really good. While people say it was a "disappointing" ending, I disagree. This is called "poignancy", people. I bawled my frickin' eyes out when the dog died, and I also did when Will Smith finally said hello to the manequin lady in the video store, and said: "Please say hello..." over and over. OMG! So sad.
Ending was sad, but I liked it all actually. Jesus some of it was scary. I would have liked a bit more resolve, such as the obvious romance between the taken zombie, and that insane zombie (seriously, he pissed me off, especially at the end, he would just roar and sort of half smirk- made me want to rip out his jaw and chatter it mockingly in front of his face; or something like that).
Great little film. Entirely forgettable for not quite delivering. But humans, they ain't perfect.

I lost it when he was holding and singing to the dog. And when he told the manequin he promised a friend he would say hello. It was really good and my boyfriend is wanting to see it but I can't bring myself to watch it again. The dog part depressed me too much I can't even look at the cover without wanting to cry.
