Default ‘The Color Purple’ movie remake

Oprah Winfrey is considering remaking the 1985 hit The Color Purple for the big screen, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times. This time the classic could be remade as a musical adapted from the current hit Broadway play

Guess Oprah doesn't have enough money, so she wants to fuck up a classic, even one that she starred in.

    Noooooooooooooooooooooo.
Oh God, I really hope not.
It's one thing to remake somethin gmade in the '30s. But remake something that was filmed in widescreen and looks like it could have been filmed yesterday? That's going a bit far.
If you like the musical, somebody film it and put it out on DVD. Don't fuck up a Spielberg classic.

I am one of the few people who did NOT like this movie. Please do not remake it.

Then she should just play the part of Sophia again, because Oprah's still a fat, ugly, bossy heiffer.

I've always wondered how Tina Turner would have been as Celie. Speilberg offered her the role first and she turned it down, saying she already lived that life (in reference to Ike).

Whoopi should have won the oscar for that role, NOT Ghost.

^Yeah, Whoopi was way better in TCP than Ghost. And I refuse to see TCP if they remake it. Some things should not be messed with.

Sooner or later there won't be any movies left to remake. Stop it the F now, geeze. Whats next, Casablanca? Gone With The Wind? Guess Whos Coming To Dinner--oh wait, they already did that one with Ashton Kutcher and Zoe Saldana...sigh.

Angela Bassett doesn't have an Oscar, or Diana Ross, but Jennifer Hudson does. Come on...she is a phenomenal singer but her acting was nothing but average.

But, yet, Halle Berry has a Best Actress Oscar and Angela & Whoopi don't. (Whoopi should have won for Color Purple & Angela for What's Love Got To Do With It)

Hell, between Halle and Hudson, I'd rather see Hudson with an Oscar. At least, she did more than take her clothes off and let Billy Bob Thornton ride her on camera like Halle did.

The only movie I liked that I think Halle did a really good job in was Loosing Isaiah.

Speaking of riding Billy Bob... I think Angela Bassett was offered the role, but she said no...due to those reasons.

Hell NO!! This is my ALL TIME favorite movie! I have seen it over a million times, I will cut that fake, non thyroid having bitch. Please, we saw what she did to "Beloved" why oh why?? Adopt a kid, build 5 more schools just leave it alone. I can't take another MUSICAL remake! You will take away from the acting, the scene when Celie stands her ground... You can't do that...
Ah HAH, don't you guys see they will give the role of Celie to Fantasia...

I don''t know if she really fucked the board though. Maybe just put the tip in. -Mrs. Dark
