Re: The 50 Greatest Indie Movies of ALL TIME
There are quite a few of those I haven't seen, but I pretty much agree with all the ones I have. I didn't enjoy Sex, Lies and Videotape all that much, but it was well done.
I probably would have placed Run, Lola, Run a little higher on the list. And why no Empire Records?

The fact that Boondock Saints is not on there makes me very, very pissed. I agree with most of those that I have seen, with the exception of Grosse Pointe Blank and Lost and Translation, which sucked big time.

Re: The 50 Greatest Indie Movies of ALL TIME
Lost in Translation is bloody brilliant, but not everybody 'gets it'. If you don't get it, then it's just nothing happening onscreen for 2 hours and probably boring as shit.
Run Lola Run.. LOVED IT.

Re: The 50 Greatest Indie Movies of ALL TIME
No, Terminator was made by a studio.. just a really small, shitty one that I don't think is around anymore. Kinda like Orion.

Re: The 50 Greatest Indie Movies of ALL TIME
^^ I stand corrected! Hey, did James Cameron do Terminator? I guess I'll go look it up myself. Cuz for some reason, I'm thinking he did a low-budget indie when he started out, and I was thinking Terminator was the one.

Re: The 50 Greatest Indie Movies of ALL TIME
It was Cameron, be he started under Roger Corman.. I think his first film was Pirahna 2: The Spawning which was apparently cut to ribbons by the editors

Re: The 50 Greatest Indie Movies of ALL TIME
I totally agree about Lost in Translation... I thought it was beautifully subtle and touching, but if you don't get it, well... then it would seem awfully boring, I guess.
And Run Lola Run is another of my all time favorites.

Either that or Cameron went $60 million over budget.

Re: The 50 Greatest Indie Movies of ALL TIME
This list isnt so much the "50 greatest indie movies of all time" as it is "the 50 greatest indie movies that you've heard of"
Regardless, I have to agree with most of their choices...maybe not the ORDER of them, but they included most of what I would have thought of...
but I too hated Buffalo 66
