Default Deep Impact will make your eyes shrivel

    Coz it's so sad.
Gotta be the saddest movie of all time.

Anyone else bawl their freakin' eyes out during this film?

i dont think i did, which is odd because i'm usually a sap.

My brother and his friends were watching this on video years ago and they were laughing; i asked 'at what!' and apprently the scene where the tsunami comes, theres an old man reading a newspaper and seems completely unaware that anything is going on even though people are running around frantically.

    It IS pretty funny.

OH yeah, I cried when I saw this movie. Balled my eyes out like a baby if I remember correctly.

Actually I couldn't stand Deep Impact for two reasons:

    1) The movie was REALLY trying to go overboard with the sentimentality. It was like being beat over the head.

    2) I didn't care if most of the characters in the movie lived or died, especially Tea Leoni's.

I liked Armageddon much better, even though Ben Affleck was in it. Even though both movies had identical plots, Armageddon executed it better with the pacing of the plot, the characters and special effects.

I liked Armageddon as well. I had tears in that.

I cry every time I see Deep Impact. When the girl who looks like Helen Hunt's mom hands the baby over to her for safekeeping, I cry. When Tea is on the beach with her dad and he puts his arms around her, I cry. When the blind astronaut is talking to the son he'll never see, I cry. That movie is a tearjerker.

Armageddon was a pile of steaming, well-lit SHIT. It wasn't a movie, it was a collection of slow motion powershots with guitars wailing overtop.

I fucking HATE movies where the planet is in DOOMED and yet you have a bunch of retards flying around with some big ass bomb who are too busy screaming at each other to prove who's dick is the biggest to save the damn world.

I mean come on.. just SHUT UP! Who cares who's in charge! just plant the fucking thing and stop your fucking BITCHING! Gawd!

*exits the thread in slow motion with Aerosmith blasting*

I thought the Australian redo of On The Beach was pretty fun (speaking of doom and gloom movies). As for the asteroid movies, both were completely different in their feeling. Armageddon was like an action-rock video whereas Deep Impact was the PBS introspective docudrama. Both were good in their own ways, but Armageddon is one I watch over and over. What can I say? I like Steve Buchemi.

^I had never seen him before in anything, so no hate. But it wouldn't matter to me who the actor was, i just think about whats happening; the father is blind, and cant see his son, and he's about to die.

Armageddon bugged the daylights outta me, although i like bruce willis. Liv Tylers character had ENTIRELY too much power. Running around taking charge in a place that security is too tight. and the corny ass ending with the kids running around with the Shuttle in their hands, countries celebrating. yuck.
