Anthony Hopkins to play Alfred Hitchcock

Academy Award, Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning actor Anthony Hopkins is set to play movie mogul Alfred Hitchcock in a new movie about British film director. The drama will be about the making of Hitchcock’s “Psycho,” and particularly the obstacles the suspense pioneer met when trying to make the film. Hopkins feels he’s the right guy to portray the late film producer :”I’m a real Hitchcock fan. I know all about the movies and had a closer look at why he set that shot up in the way that he did and the skill and rhythm of his movies like Rear Window and Vertigo. I’m not one of those guys who went to film school and watched Hitchcock movies in order to study, but I admire people who know all about Hitchcock.” Hopkins’ most famous role is the cannibalistic serial killer Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs (for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor in 1992).

Actually, Peter Bogdanovich would be a good Alfred Hitchcock. His impression of Hitchcock is chillingly accurate.

But Hopkins will be good. Hitchcock is my most favoritest ever in the history of all film, so this is pretty awesome.

And Hitch never won an Oscar!
