Thumbs up The Lives of Others

Has anyone else seen this German film? I love, love , loved it.

In the sea of disapointment, this was a true pearl.

I loved the main Stasi character played by Ulrich Mühe.
    (Our German Kevin Spacey)

    Such a great story.

I was very sad to hear of Muhe's passing. I adore this movie! It was a huge hit in Greece. It was playing in cinemas in Athens for 6 months or so. I was so excited when it beat Pan's Labyrinth at the Oscars that I whooped out loud!

Mühe used to be one of my favorite actors.

I saw it back when it was released here, and loved it! Definitely one of the best films I've seen in recent years.

Did anyone hear that Hollywood are planning a crappy remake? I bet the surveillance agent suddenly inexplicably because American and there will be explosions. The girlfriend will of course be played by some niped and tucked bimbo.

^WTF? There's no need for remake! This film is perfect!

Why don't some Americans try to learn how to read subtitles, it will do them a world of good.

Let's see the cast... hmmm, Kevin Spacey or Anthony Hopkins as the agent and Brangelina as the couple. I think I threw up a little in my mouth.

god, please don't let that be true!!! i wish people would learn to fucking read subtitles and watch foreign movies instead of the slew of shitty americanised remakes they've bombarded us with recently. hell, they even do remakes of american films that are too 'old' or that were too 'edgy' for mainstream audiences ('hairspray', anyone?). stop the madness.

Brilliant, engaging film. Definitely one of the best of '06. I would recommend it to everyone I know, but some of them have a certain gripe about reading while watching a movie.

Too bad, because it's certainly their loss!
I saw a film today, oh boy.
