    Default Summer Heights High

This won't mean anything to non-Aussies (yet) but this show is totally brilliant. It's written and performed by Chris Lilley, an Aussie actor/comedian/writer who plays the main characters including the appalling Ja'mie - a rich/bitch private school girl who goes on an exchange program to a public high school (Summer Heights High). Here are a couple of YouTube clips to give you an idea. He gets the private school Grade 11 bitch PERFECTLY

Ugh, can't stand it. It's like Kath & Kim, it's just not funny. And Chris loves to dress up as a girl. Or play a gay character. Or a swearing kid. Hmmm, super comedy. NOT! It's like Australia can't make anything funny unless it's a political satire news program.

Oh come one. I agree that Kath & Kim have jumped the shark but Chris Lilley is a genius. It's obvious you've never been the most intelligent non-Asian popular sutdent in year 11 then LOL

Seriously, there's nothing genius about this show. It doesn't even raise a laugh from me (except for the dead woman's memorial service poster on the wall).
See if you're going to play an Asian, at least buy the latex or if you're cheap sticky tape to at least make you LOOK Asian. Nah, not funny. Aussie humour died with Fast Forward.

I agree, Fast Forward was a clever and funny show. Nothing has come close since then.

I'm not interested in Kath and Kim.

Actually "Thank God you are here" is a funny show. Some comedians appear on that show, so worth watching sometimes

I don't like Chris Lilley - I found We Can Be Heroes funny for the first few episodes and then just fucking annoying. Haven't watched this one, as the ads just shat me off completely.

Well I agree, when I first saw that, Fifi Boxx started the series and it was hilarious. But then when it got popular, they had the whole "all hail Angus!" diddy and then it became sacred and they started bringing in people who are just too quick on their feet to be funny in improv moments like this. They sucked the "on your spot" fun from it, but the Kath & Kim addictites (my new word) decided that they didn't care. Coz it was Aussie. Eh. I can see why it failed in the US.

Wtf with Chris Lilley on the Logies last night? Trust me to turn over from Brothers & Sisters to that for 3 minutes.
Really, he's adored by millions? Over what, his Mr. G who sounds exactly like Ja'mie-- ie: a gay man dressing up as a girl?

I guess it takes a certain state of mind to find that funny, so I'm glad I don't live where that's apparently funny.

Apparently the same place where Kath & Kim is funny. I'll stick with the trusted Emmy winning comedies, thanks.

He's copped a lot of flak for doing that Naughty Girl drugs routine thing and unless you've seen the show I can understand why people took offence. I know he takes pleasure in taking things to (and over) the limit but I think he misjudged how it would go over at an awards ceremony. Nevertheless, I do think he's a genius comic/writer and can't wait to see what he comes up with next.

It was odd that he was allowed to perform the Naughty Girl song at the Logies.

And, I'm so over Kath and Kim - I never quite understood the hyped.

They're just showing this on bbc3 now, I'm enjoying it, especially Jai-me, she reminds me so much of the bitchy clique at my school!

I watched some series 4 of Kath and Kim, I really liked the first 2 series but the one episode I saw (Holiday) was really not all that funny. Shame.
