Thumbs up Live Free or Die Hard

I'm looking forward to this movie. I've liked the Die Hard series and Bruce was interviewed by the Chronicle. He discusses the movie and how it wanted to get back to its roots. The majority of the stunts and sequences in this movie were actually done the old fashioned way, with real stunts and actors. I was amazed that the oft repeated scene in the trailer where that car flips over willis and the hacker was actually a real car. I thought it was computer graphics. CG seems to have sapped the life and soul out of action movies and so it seems like this ones gonna be good.

Here's one local review of the movie:

Old-school, bare-knuckle action -- McClane delivers and then some

Yeah, I'm actually looking forward to this movie too. I love the Die Hard films. I just wish Samuel Jackson was going to be back for this one. Bruce and Sam work well together.

I don't know about it. My Dad and I are big "Die Hard" fans, but it seems to be going down the route of "Terminator 3", "Rocky Balboa", etc., where the aging action star comes back to reboot a dead franchise. Plus, it's PG-13. I'm all for the film making money, but if you have to sacrifice what these films have been about to do so, then why bother?
I saw a film today, oh boy.

Erm, they were either CG'd into the car flipping shot, or the flipping car was CG'd over them.. you can tell. Plus there's no way they would risk injuring their actors with such a dangerous stunt

Bruce was on the today show and said the car is not CG. The car was rigged up with cables to do that shot. Is he bullshitting? Who knows? He claims the stunts in the movie are all 90% real and there's only 10% CG.

No, I mean the shot of him ducking is 1 shot, and the car flipping onto the 2 others is another, and they used CG to mesh them both together.

    So he's not lying... technically
