Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles
Sorry, but this is a frightful movie. I was never scared of it as a kid, but that could be due to I was half asleep through most of it and didn't register with the scary scenes... but after just watching it two nights ago properly, it was extremely scary when Tom Cruise dies, rots, then comes back and is playing the piano behind the net curtain! It was a bit cliched when he says: "Claudia, you've been a very... VERY naughty little girl." But it was still great!
I officially love this movie, I think.
(And I always thought it was Interview with a Vampire??)

Even more scary is how TinyThetinTomThumb was allowed to channel his inner gay man.

I HATED those movies, probably because I was in love with the books sine high school and the movies totally ruined them.

I never read the book, but the movie was okay. I think Tom Cruise was just bad casting as Lestat. He probably only did the movie so he could suck on Brad's...neck.

Some scenes with Cruise were so very, very campy they had us on the floor laughing. I thought Kirstin Dunst was the best thing about it> very impressive for a 12 or 13 year old!

Yup, she was the star of the show, no doubt about it.

Yeah I noticed the gayness too. Very obvious. But I tried to focus on the vampire part. lol
And yes, Kirsten was the best thing about this movie- she was extroadinarily good for her age, and I do recall hearing loads of praise from critics. Too bad she died!! XD
I also thought the part where the freak vampires burst through the drapes was cool as! "Time for justice, little one!" I'm repeating that forever.

Same, except I never even picked up the second one, it was enough of a battle of wills for me to finish the first one. I really wanted to read it because the story intrigued me, but Anne Rice's writing style is just awful. I really don't get why she is so celebrated. I really wish she was a better writer because I would love to read the rest of the series since the story interests me, but trudging through her writing is just torture for me.

Exactly the same for me. I actually purchased the next two (?) books I think, and never did get past the first few chapters of the second one.
