I just want to say that The Departed is adopted from a CHINESE movie, not Japanese.

    DO YOUR RESEARCH PLEASE.

I am still surprised that Jennifer Hudson won. WOW.

And I can't believe Helen Mirren won Best Actress in that shiteous role where she has the same pensive look on her face the ENTIRE MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CRAP!!!

Alan Arkin is so hilarious, he's not hollywood at all. I watched him at the Spirit awards as well and he hardly cracked a smile. He is just not into all the hype. I'm glad he won.

Alan Arkin has been around for a long time. I can remember him acting in "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter". Great old movie.

I was so glad to see Forrest Whittaker and Martin Scorsese win. Both deserved their Oscars.

I'm glad An Inconvenient Truth won, and I LOVED Melissa Etheridge winning (and her singing tonight). I still feel bad for Randy Newman, though. WTF is it that there is always someone that edges him out? He's fantastic. Oh yes, and Jennifer Hudson and Forest Whitaker.

Damn straight. Quite rentable for those who haven't seen it. He's been in quite a few gems over the years. I'm glad he won. I wish he would have been a little more animated though, while accepting.

I don't think she should have won, but she was the odds-on favourite.

Mirren has more range in one expression than most actors have in their whole repertoire. She is one of the best actresses working today, period. Hwyd has often given people awards for their career even when the movies weren't that good, although this one was IMO.

Taking nothing away from Forest Whittatker, he was the bomb as Idi Amin, do you think because Peter O'Toole has an Honorary Oscar, the Academy skipped him on Best Actor tonight?

I was glad The Departed and Scorsese won.
Baby, by the time you have kids and they're in school, no one will care about you.

I laughed when Ellen was vacuuming and Penelope Cruz had to pick up her fluffy confection of a dress.

Highlight of the night for me: That big, broad shouldered, tall, dark and handsome Hugh Jackman in a tuxedo.

Jack Nicholson, please grow your hair back.

I thought Diane Keaton looked fantastic. And it was so good to see Jodie Foster.

I think the oscars give the awards to those peope to have made consistent great work and can act. I think Miss Little Sunshine was overrated.
