The O.C. officially cancelled
Quote:
We’ve been hearing this for many months now (perhaps longer) but word on the street is that Fox has “officially” pulled the plug on The O.C. in its fourth (and final) season. Big surprise because just yesterday, the pilot pickup season kicked off and a spy dramedy from The O.C. creator Josh Schwartz was given the green light by NBC. Josh, 30, will be delivering a high-concept action dramedy about spies (in the vein of Grosse Pointe Blank) called Chuck.
Josh will also be executive producing The Gossip Girl, which is supposedly going to be picked up by the CW. He’s going to be a busy guy, that Josh. But without The O.C. on his plate. At this point, we can only wish for great acting gigs for the cast. All of them.
Other pictures include The O.C. star Benjamin McKenzie arriving at LAX airport with friends on New Years Day.
UPDATE :: It’s official! FOX just sent out a press release. The O.C. will air its season finale on Feb. 22, so that’s 8 new episodes to go with new episodes starting tomorrow. Read the full text after the jump!

I'm kinda surprised cos although I didn't watch the show, I believed it was a popular show. I bet Micha Barton's thinking the show died after her departure *gag*.

That show long ago jumped the shark and was long overdue for cancellation. I watched it a little last season and it almost bored me to tears.

I am so excited about this!! The Gossip Girl books are my guilty pleasures. There was supposed to be a movie made several years ago starring Lindsay Lohan as main character Blair Waldorf, but she backed out and plans for the movie fell through.

^^I second that^^ People either love or hate Orange County. I personally hate it and that's because I remember it the way it used to be before 30 fucking million people took it over and remain locked in permanent logjams on the freeway. Not to mention paving over all the 1000's of acres of beautiful citrus groves, and taking 3-1/2 hours to get to the frickin beach. OC my ass!!
And I never watched one episode of the stupid show either!

OT, but wasn't there a real life gang bang rape in the real Orange County a few years back? I remember reading the transcript from another site once.

I never got into The OC. I watched the first episode and never really had much of an interest in watching it again. Even when my roommate bought Season One on DVD and we watched the entire thing, I was totally uninterested and didn't care about the storylines or characters at all. I couldn't find one likable character. They were all just so vapid and annoying. And I really didn't get why the entire town kissed Marissa's ass. Besides being a juvenile delinquent who got her kicks out of leading on every guy in their neighborhood, she was an idiot.

I never watched it and refused too. Thank goodness we are getting rid of another Cali/beach/teeny bopper reality show.
