    Default Maury Povich's Talk Show

Now I know a lot of people here watch this, and I admit that I'm guilty of it as well. I'm watching it right now, and I swear that some of this just HAS to be made up. Are there really people out in the world like this?? Today is another "who's my baby daddy" show, which is now the majority of them. Maury just eggs them all on, and I just have to laugh at them.

It's a guilty pleasure of mine to watch this, but it's becoming so Jerry Springer-ish. I really have to start thinking some of these people have to be paid actors.

Anyone else have opinions? Just for fun?

I love his paternity test shows, though I'm not sure how "real" they are anymore. I still remember one in particular a few years back, when a girl who was about 14-15 y.o. swore that a 16 y.o. boy was the baby's daddy, swore she had been a virgin when she had sex with him, and mom was just backing her daughter up all the way, saying she would never lie. When it turned out the boy was not the baby's father, mom was just pissed and embarrassed, and you could tell it was a genuine reaction, that she really was humiliated after believing in her daughter.

I think some of it's fake. Like this one episode where this dumb chick brought out her boyfriend and said that their son might not his. This was painfully obvious the guy was not the father because the son was racially mixed and the couple were both lily white. that shit was hilarious becasue the audience could tell already and was smiling and laughing through the whole thing. I think it's on Youtube as well.

I think most of those shows are fake. Especially Jerry Springer and Maury. Come on, there are not THAT MANY girls that are willing to go on national TV and go through 7-10 guys who MAY be the father of their baby. Maybe I'm just being naive, but I don't think so. And that stupid Springer show, come on. Every episode has some stupid girls having a catfight over some idiot guy.

Maury is my guilty pleasure too. I think the original "baby daddy" stories were probably true, but since it's obviously an audience winner they are now using fakes too. I just don't believe that a 16yr old would need to DNA test 12 blokes to see who fathered her child. It's a great opportunity for 11 other guys to get their 10 seconds of fame on TV IMO. I also love these shows for the ghetto names - Tarquisha, D'antay, Ja'Naiah, Shantique and my all time fave for a gold-toothed gangsta babydaddy, Blacc

I think I remember that one!

The reasons stated above were really why I asked the question in the first place. I find it so hard to believe (in my own little naive world) that you'd have to test that many men for a time span that should be relatively minimal. Sleeping with 12 different people all in a time frame where you could have conceived your child??

Yeah can you imagine her parents, how proud they would be?!

"Hey, my daughter is going to be on Maury today!! Oh, I'm not sure what the topic is, but tell everyone you know to watch it. I'm so proud of her. This could open a lot of doors for her!" I'd love to be a fly on the wall when the show airs.

I love Maury Povich, he's so lovely! I like the show, its abit more controlled than Jerry Springer, that show gives me a headache.

Possibly one of my favorite shows seriously, and I hate to admit that.

I think some of the women come on the show under false pretenses: They want a free trip to NYC, hotel stay, food, etc. And don't care if they look like fools. So they make up stories about whos my baby daddy (though they know all along who the real daddy is) and keep coming back time after time after time---all for the free fun. That's just my opinion. We're not dealing w/brain surgeons here. They're pretty lousy actors too....

It's a great show though. I'll continue to watch as long as its on....

I too love the paternity shows. I have often thought there's no way, they must be acting. But they are pretty good actors then, with the tears and the shaking and the wet noses.
I can picture Maury on the links with a cigar in his mouth, just laughing his ass off. He's making a fortune exploiting all these idiots.

and the way these women are always sooooo sure "Morry, I know he da daddy (be they white, black or just "country" they all fuck up grammatically)... then Maury with that "John you arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeee NOT the father" and then the mother jumps up off the chair runs screaming down the hall where she collapses on the floor until Maury comes to reassure her that he will help her find her baby daddy.
They're both proud drunks, they're both proud sluts and they're both proud wearers of thirsty weaves. They both probably think that the other one is swallowing up the entire world's supply of vodka, peen and yellow weaves. Michael K (re Brandi & Chelsea)

"Maury, the first time I was 100% sure, then I was 200% sure, then 500% sure...But THIS time...I'm 1000% sure"

Oh...okay, now that you're 1000% sure, it MUST be the guy!
